Gene Watts Boot Camp-Middle School

2018

Diamond Wilcott is all smiles and rightfully so as she showed an unlimited amount of potential at the Gene Watts Boot Camp I attended last week at the Duncanville Fieldhouse. Long and athletic, she showed signs of brilliance at times and before it's all said and done, I believe she will be one of the top players in the state as she approaches that magic 6'0 number. Kansas Watts keeps getting better every time I see her play and she's done extremely well playing with the older girls the last two times I've watched her in tournaments. She's gotten stronger and more athletic and when your dad happens to be one of the best in the business, her drive and ability will have her a hot commodity before it's all said and done. Diamond Atchinson also continues to improve and her offense is truly catching up with her defense. Already understanding the simple things is a plus and before it's all said and done, she too will make some noise.

2019

Sonya Blair has a great amount of upside, she's observant and caught on right off the top which translates into a player with a pretty good IQ for the game and at this age, that is great to see. She worked hard and didn't make the same mistakes twice and even more importantly she enjoyed playing defense. Mikayla Hutchinson is a name I've mentioned several times already and I'm guessing I'll be a talking about her a couple of more times, that's a couple of hundred. Once she realizes how good she can be, there is no telling how high she'll go, the tools are there

2020

I was impressed with both Nina Millner and Jazzmyne Brown at the camp however over the weekend, they simply blew me away. Milner is a tough and speedy point guard that already knows how to get the ball to the right person at the right time and where does the game start at, the one. Brown is another long and athletic young lady who not only ran the floor well, she also finished in spite of contact and believe when you can do that consistently at this age, that is super huge
