DC Queens 2023 Orange show up and out #LoneStarJam

One thing I always do is keep it real and in this day of telling parents and players what they want to hear so when someone tells me so and so has their 9 year old daughter 5th in the nation, I usually look at them like their crazy but that's what this is becoming, a lot like the boy's side. I measure talent on the way the game was played right around the turn of the century, you had players everywhere, it was more condensed and you could get a true idea on who was what but I took it a step further and had my 7th grade daughter playing on a team that was two years older and the team played up so using my phrase, it's not what you do, it's who you do it against sort of sets the stage for this talented DC Queens group I caught this past weekend as they played up in the 9th/10th grade division at Prime Time's Lone Star Jam

I love this picture of Victoria Flores flying through the air and she did it numerous times but I'm seeing in this young lady at this stage of her career has me thinking big things are ahead and the same could be said for many others on this squad including Crislyn Amari Rose who joined Flores on my Tip Sheets from the Lone Star Jam, links are at bottom, but I'm certain all of these players will be on one of my various tip sheets in the future

Nicole Morgan Weaver showed she could shoot the ball, mid to long range, consistently while Natalie Cardenas handles the ball easily and effortlessly under pressure as she sees the floor and scores well. Mackenzie Townsel and Tristen Jayde Taylor both are bursting with energy and their athleticism enables them to bring heat on both ends but even more so they enjoy doing it.

I've seen Vivian Jin a few times, knows how to create her shot in traffic and can knock it down but Zaniyah Johnson Andrews is definitely ahead of the game because she has size and goes after everything on the boards and I'm talking both ends. Madison McCloud attacks the basket from everywhere, she's strong and finishes strong, with contact.

This talented squad of 6th graders playing against high school talent showed me a lot and I truly could understand if some parents felt slighted that I missed them at Queen Of The Court, believe me I've been there, however this is what's known as a correctable error and I was truly impressed with not only the skill set of the squad but their poise and like Bonecrusher, they were "never scared" of the competition

2017 Ariel Elzie makes decision #GPRUnderTheRadar

Sometimes people get the misconception on what can and can’t be done and even though Ariel Elzie did not play her senior season in high school, based on what I had seen from the young lady over the past four seasons, I knew the next level wouldn’t be a problem. First of all, she’s 6’3, has good hand and nice footwork, plus she rebounded on both ends and passed well from the post position. On top of all of that, she has excellent timing so again, this was definitely going to happen and I asked her why she chose Allen Community College out of the double digit offers that popped up since we got started on the process a few weeks ago.

“I signed with Allen because I fell in love with the coaching staff and I think what Coach Todd Buchanan has to offer and with his background and basketball history, that will really help me not only become a better player but to also help me get to the next level “

I couldn’t agree more, Coach Buchanan and I go way back and I know this was definitely a perfect fit

5'9 2018 Jaquia White scores multiple ways as well as.......

The video below gives you a glimpse of talented 2018 Jaquia White's offensive skills, yes she can hit the midrange, drain the long range and finish with either hand however that first step and ability to create her shot in traffic, while nailing it isn't included. She also finishes well after contact plus she rebounds on both ends from the guard spot, she can play 1 or 2 and while mentioning her ability to create her own shot, she also can create for teammates s she sees the floor well

This is another talented young lady that caught my eye as a 7th grader, I knew this class would be really really good and I knew that Jacquia would be in the mix once everything was said and done. Her defensive game was always there yet she kept progressing on that as well as other aspects of her game and she's ready to showcase her skills with DFW Elite Nike Gold

5'10 2018 Kayla White doing a little bit of everything, well

When you're 5'10 and can shoot the three, the midrange, attack from anywhere on the floor and finish with contact, then you have a variety of offensive weapons which make you hard to handle or as I often put it, a nightmare to defend. Kayla White knows how to put the ball in the basket, can play multiple positions as well as defend and in these two videos which certainly don't show you everything she can do, it shows you enough to know what you're looking at

Watching her glide through the air as a 7th grader left no doubt in my mind I was watching a special young lady and her unselfishness on the floor may be one of her biggest attributes. She has the ability to simply take over games however she can drop 20 in the flow against stiff competition and has done just that over the years

Catch her this summer with DFW Elite's 16U  EYBL team and here's my latest evaluation on this very talented young lady who can play the 1-3

2017 #IronSharpensIron MS action hot and heavy

Iron Sharpens Iron was another exciting event put on by PassThaBall and one thing I know is when the ball is passed, you need to be able to catch it and I caught something on every player in attendance and even some of the fans who I hadn't seen in ages. If you don't follow me on Twitter and or Instagram, now might be a good time because I'll be tweeting those pictures out on each player with a little twist so I'm giving you a heads up now

Speaking of heads up, I was even more impressed with Tyanna Herron and Amina Muhammad, as well as Breanna Davis who I just saw a week ago as well as Laila McCleod who I caught in Oklahoma a couple of weeks ago, this time around she made the Tip Sheet along with 13 others however since NO ONE does what I do, check me out on Twitter and Instagram as I drop it like its hot all day from MS session
