Barbers Hill ready for challenge #LadyGanderTipOff

Jakilla Phillips is letting me know that they are ready for the challenge and their game  against Cy Woods should be a dandy but after last night, I have to admit that I watched two of the best high school games that I've seen on the same night in a very long time

First Cy Woods had to overcome a very talented Denton Guyer squad led by Lauren Heard and Bre Wickware but their supporting cast sort of set the tone for the night. Woods  "Big Three" from last year, Erica Ogwumike, Tatiana Perez and Nancy Mulkey lay the foundation but the emergence of freshman Cat Reece along with move in Jasmine Williams legitimizes their ranking in more ways than one

Barbers Hill just kept coming at North Shore and the Mustangs returned the favor but down the stretch, the Eagles started to soar. The second half scoring barrages from both Kimberly Carter (Barbers Hill)  and Chasity Patterson (North Shore) kept the gym heated as well as the inside battle between Charli Collier and Alyssa Okene

Tiffany Arceneaux made several huge steals for the Mustangs, remember she sealed their victory against Hightower but Hills just kept getting points from a variety of players and when Leah Boehl and Kristina Kana started dropping shots you just knew this was going to the wire.

Back to Phillips, this young lady is one of the most explosive players in the area you may not know about and I think I wrote that after this weekend, Barbers Hill might lay early claim to being the best team in the area, we'll know in a bout 12 hours
