Tompkins cruises to #SBISD title

Tompkins wasn't on anyone's preseason list, well other than mine and the biggest question I posed to myself was could they overtake Seven Lakes for the district title and after watching their huge win over Westside in the SBISD Tournament final, the answer is, well maybe. Kendall Rollins came out on fire for the Falcons scoring multiple ways and even though Brittany Panetti missed the second quarter, the 6'2 New Mexico signee did basically whatever she wanted to do in the first quarter and showing me a finger roll later in the game which really got out of hand when the Goss twins and Sydney Makowski stepped on the floor and even though Hannah Hudson didn't score like she had the previous games, she did numerous things other than rebound and block shots that won't appear in the box score

In the third place game, it was definitely wild as Memorial came back and got Cy Falls behind the shooting of Courtney and Kelsey Slattery, as well as the inside presence of Amanda McCloskey but the tempo was definitely on point as Giuliani Madrigali played huge on both ends of the floor. The Eagles are noticeably missing a couple of offensive threats in Kiara McElroy and Jae Branch however McElroy will be back for the Texas Invitational while Branch is on course for when it counts the most, district play

Kempner won the 5th place game against Klein Forest, the game had already started by the time I arrived however watching freshman Alleah Dallas drop a 25 footer as I stepped into the gym definitely put a smile on my face, she's 6'2. Kempner is solid with multiple long range shooters including Tiana Clark who happens to be one of the best defensive guards in the 2018 class, I'm talking Texas and hopefully another player gets cleared which will definitely add a different dimension to this already talented squad. Since we're on dimensions, Texas A&M Corpus Christi signee Tiara Matthews probably averaged a double-double for the event while Jada Felder scored almost at will
