Duncanville Pantherettes In Basketball on the Bayou

The Duncanville Pantherettes came to Houston back in November and beat four area teams which were in the area Top 10, including our top two to win the Texas Invitational. They avenged their only loss of the season against Plano West and along the way they beat several of the top teams in the state including the previous state champ Irving MacArthur and if you had a chance to watch them in the state Final Four, you had a chance to watch the best team I've seen since the turn of the century, 40-1 says it all

The glue from that team, Empress Davenport, will be doing big things on center stage at Texas now as she Morgan Bolton and Martisha Bables have graduated but evidently the core group has decided to play together this summer and I'm hearing they are doing quite well after this July. Tasia Forman and Ariel Atkins are a couple of 2014 players that improved every time I saw them so I'm looking forward to watching how this talented team performs. Irving MacArthur was in a similar position a couple of years ago as they went against the heavy hitters led by Alexis Jones. as good as that team was, Duncanville has more depth and could make some noise.
