First Round Upsets?

I guess District 22 Champion Deer Park losing to  District 21 Fourth Place Channelview could be considered one however this is the fourth time that districts champion has been knocked out in the first round. There were several third place teams that defeated the runner-ups which can sometimes be deceiving as all districts aren't evenly matched. Ironically, third place Clear Creek knocked off runner-up Fort Bend Bush, Bush had the district sewed up before a loss to Fort Bend Austin and a district tiebreaker loss to Hightower. Third place Austin defeated runner-up Clear Lake which makes it even stranger but Creek's Taylor Longley (12) and Brettney Branch (23) combined for 35 points and if those two are clicking at the same times, they can create problems for opponents

Cy Ranch is another three that surprised me, no so much that they won but that they won 70-49 against Eisenhower, a team that played with Elsik for 31/2 quarters. Taylor over Westside, La Porte over South Houston, these teams are usually right there with each other so no real upsets as of yet
