Playoffs Start With Monday Madness Game

If I did a poll and asked if Katy Taylor lived up to their expectations this season, I'm sure it would be all over the place and I have to remember you have to have watched a team several times before a knowledgeable opinion can be given, you also have to know what you've witnessed, and sometimes that doesn't always go hand and hand. Did I expect them to do as well as they did last season, no I didn't however I expected them to do a lot better than they've done this season and it appears they may have hit their stride at the right time coming off a victory against Seven Lakes (25-9) isn't a bad record, only three more losses that last season when they finished (28-6) and few buckets away from the R3-F4 but losing a player who was the "glue" Amanda Jungwirth, has been troubling at times

Westside on the other hand is one of those teams that you have to scratch your head about, sometimes they too play a lot better than you would have expected and sometimes they don't. Offensive machine Tiffany Davis decided to close out her career at Westbury Christian however had she stayed, it sort of makes me wonder if they could have not only won district but been a legitimate contender to make the F4. Nevertheless this team may not have the talent of a Duncanville or Desoto but they have the intensity and at this time of year, you have to bring your A game along with some heat, teams ranked high who have been knocked off by lower or unranked teams in the past know exactly what I'm talking about.

Season before last, these teams met in the second round and Westside won the game 50-45 led by Erin Luton and Rachel Cumbo, Westside went on to make their third R3-F4 in 5 seasons, losing to eventual state representative Hightower #canenation 55-48. Always remember you can't get what I give anywhere else and this game should be one of the better first round match-ups between two teams capable of making you believe
