No real surprises over weekend, well not really

Duncanville jumped out Mansfield Timberview Friday night and never looked back. Even though Timberview was only down by 10 at the half, the Pantherettes stretched the lead in the second half and won 58-36. Even more impressive than the 22 point victory is the fact that Duncanville's "Big Three" Tasia Foman  (15) Ariel Atkins (14) and Kiara Perry (12) outscored Timberview who were led by Terriell Bradley with 14.

Round one goes to Duncanville and these two team will meet again next January 18th and possibly in the playoffs

The game I covered, Kingwood @ Westfield, turned out to be a pretty good ball game as Kingwood hung close and came away with the victory late in the game. Kingwood has several talented players and the nucleus of  the team is young and one of those young ladies, 2015 Brooke Jolivet, led them in scoring with 12 points followed by Lauren Olivarez and Taylor Shepeard with 11 each

Lauren Rhodes came alive for the Mustangs and did what I've watched her do time and time again and that's drop missiles from all over, in fact she dropped one from close to the timeline that would have tied the game however the officials ruled a whistle had been called prior. Rhodes dropped 12 to go along with 11 for Destiny Barrett for Westfield who were led by Kylah Jones (13)

Dani Fielder and Ikpeaku Iwobi scored 12 each and Cy Creek surprised Seven Lakes 43-40. This was my alternate game which really boiled down to if I wanted seafood however the logistics overruled. Christen Inman led Lakes with 16 points

Remember you can always check the Chronicle for scores and schedules. Not saying it's going to be right all the time however like horseshoes.........
