Youth have Westside hopes high

Jasmine King

For the record, this seasons Westside Wolves team will go as far  as Briana Luton, Jasmine King and Jameeka Gray take them. They're all seniors, they know what to expect and they've been in the trenches so now that we've established that, let's move on. Westside has remained tough over the years and this season could be the one they defeat Bellaire for district, something that hasn't happened since my daughter graduated, but they've been close, awfully close

Tanea Thomas

Pound for pound, inch for inch, there has been no player tougher than King who has had more than her share of injuries yet she keeps coming back stronger and with her and Luton both dropping double figures early in the tournament, that set the stage for a strong finish as a different player wound up being their leading scorer in each game.

Maddisenn Turner, Sentreal Gregory and Tanea Thomas form a nucleus of young players that could conceivably do some damage in the future.

Turner, the athletic 6'1 player that can do multiple things, all good is going to create some problems as she can play multiple positions while the backcourt of Gregory and Thomas could be among the best in the city before it's said and done. Luton was named all tournament as the Wolves took 4th place
