Peak Performance shows explosiveness at #PTSNBC

I ran into an official I've known for over ten years at Prime Time Nationals on bracket play Saturday and while taking to him during timeouts, he mentioned how Peak Performance's Croix Bethune's ball-handling reminded him of my daughters around the same age and I agreed. As they say a picture is worth a thousand words, a moving picture or whatever this is says a whole lot more

Peak Performance came all the way from Georgia  and they came for a reason, to find new competition and compete and as added bonus, they're getting some pub and they deserve it. Bethune, Amari Robinson and Kemia Ward are all from the 2019 class these kids are going to create some problems in their class, well actually they're creating problems playing up on this 2018 team. Bethune truly handles the ball like a yo-yo, she see's the floor extremely well and can get anywhere she wants, the moving picture again comes in handy.

Ward and Robinson control the inside and both can not only finish strong but put it on the floor cost to coast, They're long and athletic and understand the simple things about basketball and before it's all said and done, there is no telling how high these two young ladies can go, I'm talking BCS. Both showed some incredible moves in the paint and the one that energized me for the rest of the day was when Robinson changed hands in mid air for a bucket, this isn't an average feet and I can tell she's done it before

Caitlin Felts is long and athletic as well, she can put it on the floor and knock down the mid-range and as an added bonus, she showed she could shot the three. She and Kennedy Cater round out the starting line-up, Cater also showed she could handle the ball and score multiple ways, not to mention anticipate and defend

Victoria Agyin just brings so much energy when she comes into the game and simply makes things happen. She's exciting to watch as she has a knack to be around the ball on both ends, plus she takes her man off the dribble at will. Nina Burwell rounds out the squad and she's a force to be reckoned with in the paint. She uses her body extremely well, is physical and more importantly can rebound and finish

Both Peak Performance Black and Blue make 2018 even brighter at #ATLShowcase

What did I say about Victoria Agyin after she and her mixture of 6th and 7th grade Peak Performance teammates showed up at Prime Time Nationals and made a more than impressive showing? Well then
read more

Victoria has simply added to her game and so have several others. Caitlin Felts has grown and gotten longer, she can shoot and attack, Kennedy Carter has shown improvement but this Black team has a bit of everything. Daimya McPherson and Nissa Sam-Grant have size along with a huge upside, keep in mind this whole team is from the 2018 class. Ashlyn Gideon, like Agyin has speed and can handle the ball. Laterrika Freeman and Jala Jordan both have an abundance of athleticism, Jordan's length created problems on both ends

On the Blue squad, several players could do multiple things but three handled the ball extremely well under pressure, Peyton Allen, Avery Jefferys and Avery Lusk. Jefferys also saw the floor well while Lusk did a good job of reading the floor and came up with some big steals. Jennah Golden showed she could finish while Alexis Goldsby attacked the basket from just about anywhere. Katie Brown wears the right number, she showed she could shoot the long ball well

Peak Performance Gold at #ATLShowcase

Devyn Lowe

The talent was just pouring out on several clubs with multiple teams and Peak Performance definitely had it's share. The Gold squad had a feisty group and Devyn Lowe definitely made her presence felt. She attacked and finished, relished the contact for and one opportunities and definitely was a mid-range threat, that alone will give you options at the next level.
Eboni Williams

Eboni Williams and Brooke Carthon were definitely a couple of bright spots among these talented players. Williams blinds you getting to the basket while Carthon simply has learned to overpower and punish opponents on both ends, she's physical and definitely makes her presence felt. Also making their presence felt is Abby Rouse, who like Lowe are the only 2017 players on this 2016 squad. Oh, Rouse is 6'5, she's still raw in some areas but the more I watched the more she sizzled and with good hands and already finishing strong.......

Kennedy Montgomery also showed plenty of potential, she made several huge plays on opening day whereas the Hartman sisters, Kelly and Lauren, both created havoc and speaking of havoc, Morgan Towells brought it on both ends as she not only defended well, but attacked with force. She hit players on the money with assists and showed she was definitely a threat from the outside

#PrimeTime coverage in the #ATL

Last season,  I saw a mixture of 2018 and 2019 players from Peak Performance that made their way to Prime Time Nationals and made not only an impressive run but left me with somewhat of a lasting impression with their talent read more

Next weekend, I'l see the older girls from Peak Performance and if they're anything like I've grown accustomed to seeing, I'm definitely in for a treat but the treat doesn't top there as several of the top teams in the country will be in hand like the Atlanta Celtics and Georgia Pearls but and I'm sure I'll find other gems

Be ready for the action coming at you as my initial Prime Time event gets off the ground

Peak Performance "bigs" impressive at camp before #ATLShowcase

2015 Kennedy Rushin is all smiles and rightfully so as the young star is about to have college coaches "rushin" to see her this season because at 6'6............

Rushin is in front of 6'5 Abby Rouse, both showed they could create some issues in the paint during the tournament, oh Rouse is a 2017 btw

Standing at 6'5 is another 2017, Zoe Guillmette whose upside is through the roof. Length along with excellent timing definitely stood out

Coach Bruce Price is all smiles as they have stars galore coming up through Peak Performance. I'll break their squads down as well as the other teams who participated in the ATL Showcase, this will be going on through Thursday as I head to the Metroplex to cover another Prime Tournament with a Texas twist

Peak Performance National tunes up at #ATLShowcase

Okay the reason I take a lot of pictures is because I'm more a visual person and I can go back and look at a photo and relive moments and these three Peak Performance players in the photo all had highlights starting Friday night at the camp. First off Zoe Gullimette is only a freshman, she's 6'5 and can run the floor, finish and block shots, again she's a 6'5 freshman so she's truly ahead of the game and her upside is off the charts. Waiting on the rebound is Kanisha Tharpe and she has symbols by her name an astrologist would be in awe. She is just relentless in the paint, great strength and I saw her finish with three people hanging on her. Tene Thompson showed she could a variety of ways, including the long mid and from the line and she's a shade under the magic number of six feet

Coach Price told me before the camp to watch Sydney Spencer because she reminded him of my daughter handling the ball, going full speed and he was right, this kid can just blow by you with a turbo boost. She catches defenders slipping, too late, great handle plus she can drain the three. Lia Thomas and Cairo Booker both handled the ball well  and were super athletic going to the basket. This team has a little bit of everything and was very impressive as a whole

Breasia McElrath was simply a throwback player in the paint, she doesn't quit and is a fierce rebounder. Cassidy Williams showed she could put the ball in from any and everywhere. Kristan Carter was simply so athletic she created problems for those trying to score and those who tried to stop her from scoring. Kyrie Chandler is another athletic guard that defended, saw the floor, showed a step back but what I loved seeing the most was her first step as she simply set defenders up and left them standing many times

Peak Performance Black on the attack in 17U Division #ATLShowcase

First off, the Black squad for Peak Performance is loaded with juniors capable of playing at the next level. Sim, why do you say that? Okay, I'll answer like this,, Erin Rushing is 6'6. yeah six-six and Robinson, both take up space in the paint, can rebound, catch and finish and have huge upsides.

Now that I have your attention, they also have ball-handlers, Haley Kaison and Dyanna Freeman both showed that, along with Ashari Hankerson who created problems on both ends. Franceska Brown also finished well in the paint, Kristen Green and Deja Barthell did a good job creating their shots and Courtney Poole was able to stretch the defense with her outside shooting

Peak Performance wins 7th Grade Division in #ATLShowcase

Let me tell you something that this #AutoAwesome photo hasn't. This group of 7th graders from Georgia haven't be any means PEAKED and the PERFORMANCE I saw from many will lead to an abundance of offers from colleges across the country

The game has and always will start at the one, if someone tells you different, run!!!!! Croix Bethune handled the ball like a Yo-Yo at Prime Time Nationals last season, now she's doing tricks like that guy in the Duncan Yo-Yo commercial, do NOT watch the ball as you may become hypnotized but she's not the only one possessing a little "abracadabra" but the small guard with the amazing game will be a highlight waiting to happen in college

Kennedy Powell and Trinity Edwards simply sneaked up on me, I knew they both were good at the but as the event progressed, I see BCS potential in both. Both attack hard, both can shoot it mid-range and from bta and both can defend. Powell might be a little stronger finishing, Edwards just makes things happen Let me sum it up, she threw a backhanded no-look pass for a basket that made me stand yp, YOU CAN'T TEACH THIS!

Charity Ross showed she could use her body as she created problems in the paint, Sarah Plemons created well along with showing she could hit the mid-range as well as Alexis Zainey, who showed some athleticism going to rim. Callie Weaver and Jillian Smith have a lot of upside, they did some big time thing on Super Sunday and it's ironic I said the same thing about Kemia ward last season as far as upside. Ward simply shows that the sky is the limit for her if she keeps improving, never takes a play off and showed she could dominate on both ends and already standing over 6'0, watch out

A lot of people want to be authorities on GBB and really to be an authority you have to

1.Go out and see multiple players across the country, not just who your kid is playing against
2.Always give credible information, no matter who players play for, in other words, don't HATE
3.Make sure you keep a record on how many times you've been right this century, people forget quickly

I know average, I know good, I know good enough to play at the next level, from D3 to BCS, and I know great, Amari Robinson is showing signs of being great and I'm talking about a legitimate "MDAA" type of player. It would be easier for me to list what she can't do and to be honest, I really don't see much I can type.

She can shoot the three, handle the ball like a guard, she's over 6'0 btw, long wingspan makes her a nightmare on defense, she can shoot the mid, post up but peep this and I'm done. I saw her falling out of bounds backwards  on the opposite end of the court and throw an eighty foot pass on the money for an assist. I guess she wanted to give me something to think about on the flight back as she did the same thing again, with her other hand. One more time YOU CAN'T TEACH THIS!!!!!

Best of Summer-Part 2

TALENT IS EVERYWHERE!

EOTO caught my eye and this kids name, Penny Coin, says it all as she was on the money!

No matter where I go, there is an abundance of talent around

Remember if you aren't working on your game, somebody else is!

GEORGIA BLAZERS WHITE VS FGB

Kenny Kalina is the force behind FGB. He is considered one of "the men" down in Florida and if you ever want to know anything that's going on down that way, check him out on Twitter. He's also the guy that got me started with Scout.com and as we all know, the rest is history. FGB is loaded with talented players and was fun to watch.

WINSTOM SALEM VS PEAK PERFORMANCE

Size vs Shooters is what this amounted to

Peak Performance Blue at #ATLShowcase

Nothing like having a team with good players that are also scrappy and don't know what the word quit means is how I would describe this talented young team full of freshmen. Moriah Hopkins and Lexi Mann both have reached the magic number of 6'0 but they play even bigger. Hopkins is longer, she has a huge upside and I say that while adding she can hit the mid-range and finish right now. Mann has defenders thinking "oh Man" I have to hold her I bet. She's super strong and loves to bang inside

Gabrielle Mills showed she could shoot it from the outside, Charley Amissah-Reyes finished well while Saige Cornick-Turpin knew how to get to the rim while adding a floater. Simone Williams, Joy Stucker and Joan Messina all showed plenty of potential on this already talented team

Peak Performance North runner-up in 6th grade #ATLShowcase

What I gathered from this young group of talented young ladies is that they were smart and understood the game quite well, oh yeah, they had some talent too so I know they're working on their games and in case you've been misinformed, the game does, has and always will start the ONE

Brooke Purves

Brooke Purves was small but her IQ is through the roof, she did a great job at handling the ball, attacking the basket and finsihing. She saw the floor well but she also showed she could shoot it, mid and long range. Several players on PPN showed they could get to the rim and finish at the ATL Showcase hosted by Prime Time Sports, I mean Emily McPhail simply found ways to get to the rim and she also showed she could man-up

Kennedi Philson

Savannah Burke also got to basket time and time again, good ball-handler that could take her man off the dribble, she also could defend. Emily Jeffeys has take over game mentality and also the skills to go with it as this kid can flat out score from both mid or long range, guess what, her D was on point as well. Kensley Bennett and Maddie Mazer both made some big plays, Emily Lawton showed she could finish in the paint but Kennedi Philson definitely showed signs of being huge one day. First of a ll she's tall, 5'10 I imagine and long. She's very athletic, can run the floor and has good hands and footwork, plus she finished, even with contact. Her upside is off the charts, well that can be said for the whole team
