Spring Branch Invitational-Klein vs Northbrook

Before I start, I want to talk about Maya Malonson's courageous performance over the weekend. Maya's dad Mike died suddenly Thursday night from a hear attack and this kid played as near to flawless as I have ever seen. I only met Mike this past club season and we bonded quickly because of our passion for the game. He supported his daughters, he has twins that play competitive soccer as well, and was always there cheering them on, as well as the other kids on the court or field. Mike was a good guy and he will surely be missed.

Amanda Barksdale has done a great job preparing her team since taking over at Northbrook. A former standout from Houston knew off the top it would be an uphill battle, however her team, led by senior Whitney Bradford goes out and competes each game.

Ashley Alexander led Klein to some impressive victories last season prior to a knee injury in district play. It has been a long road back, howver Ashley knocked down three three pointers on her way to 15 points, that's for the first quarter folks.
