I'll never forget when I received a video from a professor at Texas A&M asking me to check out a couple of talented 8 year old players and what I actually thought about them. A few days later he asked me had I had a chance to look at it and I said yeah but I'm still waiting on the one with 8 year old players because these young ladies have to be in middle school. Okay embellishing the story just a tad, they weren't they were 9 and I immediately got back to him but I did say, Kiana and Brianna Suber had to be in middle school

Fast forward to now, the talented duo whose acrobatic shots hanging in the air as well as mid and long range baskets alone make them legitimate D1 prospects however when you throw in blocks and defense, high BB-IQ and the will to win as they've helped lead their Rudder HS to state once and almost pulled it off again last season, the icing on the cake for me is watching them throw alley-oops to one another. The talented twins are the draw, the place is Frisco where they're suiting up with Texas Elite Phenoms in the Super 64

Spots available for I-10 Basketball Showcase this weekend

The Houston Lady Phenoms first group of players caught my eye prior to even entering high school and several players stood out on the squad, in fact they stood out so much I called many LEGITIMATE college prospects and we all know how it turns when I said that right?

Fast forward to now, this new crew has plenty are just as legitimate including those Suber twins, Kiana and Briana, who I said were D1 locks in the 5th or 6th grade and they've shown that the definitely have the key as many doors have opened from colleges wanting these talented young ladies

The Lady Phenoms are hosting the I-10 Basketball Showcase this weekend at San Jac, spots are available, cost is $200 for a 3-4 game guarantee. Contact Coach DJ at 832.2063610 and of course , I'll be attendance and remember "if you don't get it now, you will later "

Rudder wins thriller against Barbers Hill

When you're tired, there's nothing like something to jump-start your body and I felt that this would be one of the best quadruple-header openers I've seen, it hasn't been an abundance of them since the top two division were split but nevertheless, I got to see some spectacular basketball

Patrickia Daily was simply unconscious dropping three deep ones and an and one finishing with 12 in the opening quarter against Barbers Hill, that number was matched by Eagles sophomore sensation Charli Collier and the game was back and forth

Daily (23) and Suber twins, Kianna (26) and Brianna (23) accounted for all but six of their teams points but this was definitely a total team effort. Collier led all scorers with 36, Barbers Hill just kept coming with multiple players stepping up however Rudder is one step away from heading back to San Antonio as Crosby stands in their path, that game is at 1pm

R-3 5A semi's tomorrow

Let's see, Rudder has those Suber twins and Daily sisters but they are "All In The Family" as they're representing their R-3 title from last season when they defeated a talented A&M Consolidated squad, who happened to be their district rival, for the trip to San Antonio. Fast forward to now, Rudder open the Campbell Center up against Barbers Hill, I just got my hair cut at a shop raised above ground so I don't know what that means but I do know they have one of the top 2018 players in the country in Charli Collier

The 5 pm match-up has an impressive Magnolia squad who appears to have mimicked Tompkins in 6A by knocking off some heavy hitters to get here, most recently Waco. They go against the team I told you was the preseason favorite and even though I've yet to see Crosby, who finished ahead of Barbers Hill to win district, I know they have at least four D1 players but that doesn't necessarily assure anything, Rockwall won a state title with one back in the day and in the top division at that

I'll be a tweeting when I'm in my seat and I'll be eating because they always have treats but may the best team on that day win cause I don't care who gets beat, just play hard and smart, numerous college have verified they will be in attendance and they're not coming to see me

Rudder still talented and explosive #FBISDTournament

The Lady Rangers of Rudder didn't catch my eye late last season simply because I knew several players on the team, including the Suber twins and the Daily sisters and had watched them play since middle school so it definitely wasn't a surprise at seeing them making a state title run and even though they fell short they still have several ingredients remaining to do it again

Kiana Suber iced the regional final last season from the line, she and her twin sister Brianna bring plenty of heat both offensively and defensively and as athletic and acrobatic as they are, they keep adding to their games. Megan Daily could always shoot the three, she's shooting at a higher percentage while her sister Trisha Daily brings so much pressure on defense while still handling pressure to run the team and scoring when needed

While the older Daily sisters ate seniors, more are coming starting with freshman Trecee who it seems like I've been knowing even before she was in school, I'm serious the more I think about it I'm pretty close. I was super impressed with her poise as she stepped out on the floor and handled the heat and I already know what type of talent she possesses after catching her in club ball and I can't wait to see her and the baby, Precious, go to work in a couple of years

Deyesha Wilbert is long and athletic, a shade under the magic number and definitely will create problems all season while Kiara Benford and Tieshton Thompson fill in many of the blanks without any let up when they're on the floor so I wouldn't be surprised to see this talented group at Campbell Center again making another run

Heavy hitters line up in '17 class for I-45 Shootout

I called the 2017 group from Texas a MONSTER class when I caught a glimpse of many of the players in middle school like Chasity Patterson, Deauzya Richards, Alexis Morris who I said even back then were LEGITIMATE Top 100 players who were going to be on the short list for MDAA honors and I believe all are listed somewhere in the Top 20 o most national services

I also said the Suber twins, Kiana and Briana, Lexi Gordon and Chennedy Carter had BCS written all over them and that Arianna Whitfield was close, so as the song continues to play, my lyrics haven't changed as these young ladies will be on hand for the I-45 Shootout September 6th at Lutheran North

Several other standouts will be there from various classes, I'll drop some 18s on you when I get a chance

2015 Texas A&M ELITE Camp top performers

COLLEGE STATTION, Texas – The Texas A&M Elite Camp continues to attract some of the top talent not only from Texas but across the country and reading the list of players that participated was something like a Who’s Who of heavy hitters with bright resumes and options on where they may attend. Arguably one of the top point guards in Texas, Jaelyn Richard-Harris was on hand as well as her club teammate Jasmine Williams who helped lead Cy Woods to the state title. Cate Reece was also in attendance, she played on that same Cy Woods team had a big hand in their success, not to mention she’s pone of the top 2018 players in Texas.

Speaking of state, the run that Kianna and Brianna Suber helped lead Rudder to the semi’s was amazing, they were in attendance while fellow 2017 Aeriel Starks who went completely off in the regional semis as well as another 2017 Marissa Banfield, one of the top points in Texas for that 2017 class put on a show as she helped Westbury Christian make a run to the finals in their classification in TAPPS.

Also in attendance was Oklahoma’s own Jonah Johnson, I’ve played around with the “ JJ and DYNOMITE” phrase multiple ways so that should give you picture and icing on the cake had to be Natalie Chou, a young lady I saw that was destined for greatness while she was in the 8^th grade playing in Prime Time Nationals, she made the USA Team last season.

Girlz Prep Report correspondent Tim Lewis was on hand to capture the action and he sent me a list of names that caught his eye during the event , Lewis said if he had to had to choose an MVP it was definitely Aahliay Wilson (OK) but here are some players that he thought separated themselves throughout the event

Rudder holds off A&M Consolidated to advance to state

When I caught Rudder a couple of weeks ago playing Stratford, it was actually my first time seeing the team in a few years. I caught several of their players on the club circuit but after watching the athleticism and heat that they brought, it's no surprise that they put this together and are heading to state

The twins, Briana and Kiana Suber, gave me some lasting memories that will be forever embedded my mind with the hangin in the air, double and triple pumps, ESPN Top 10 worthy blocks and I could just go on and on and on about how impressed I was but it wasn't just the twins

Ebony James and Patrickia Daily brought it on both ends over and over and what an I say about Ke"Asia Williams as she along with B Suber put up numbers galore. Teashton Thompson, Meagan Daily, and Jasmine Johnson have been key reserves all season but not as much as this weekend when Rudder battled through foul trouble and those players had to step up. Cheyenne Nunley was out due to an injury

Rudder upsets Barbers Hill to advance

Barbers Hill defeated Beaumont Ozen four years ago to advance to the state tournament and that shocked me completely however I'm even more shocked that they didn't this season after losing 72-57 but after truly thinking about I wonder if I really am shocked. Just so I wasn't seeing things last week at Coleman, the Suber twins continued to defy gravity and were led by Briana Suber and K'Asia James with 24 each

Quadruple-header at Campbell Center

Rudder has been one of the most exciting teams I've seen and those Suber twins are a highlight waiting to happen. When I see girls that can hang in the air and finish double pumping, I get excited so I tweeted how do you think I felt when I saw one of them triple pump and  score from a 180 degree angle, if you don't what I'm saying, nm

 If that didn't excite me, the no look backwards pass certainly did, if there is video pleeeez share it but the squad just simply gets after it. A&M Consolidated opens up Campbell at 3:30, then Rudder vs Barbers Hill at 5 followed by Westside vs Clear Springs at 6:30 and closing with North Sore vs Cy Woods

Rudder holds off Stratford to advance

To be honest with you I really wanted an exciting high school game to attend on yesterday so I was hoping for a 6A doubleheader. That didn't happen, not even a duo in  any of the classes however Rudder vs Stratford was there and I'm certainly glad I went. Rudder won 72-50 and the photographer caught the top scorers from each team, Briana Suber (23) and Kathryn Arcy (19) in the above picture

The Lady Rangers jumped out on the Lady Spartans early after back to back baskets from Tiera Hutton and it appeared they were about to blow them out as Suber, Ebony James and Ke'Asia Williams were all going but Elizabeth Brann and Ashton Bates went to work and brought them back for comeback number one as Rudder lead 15-14 after one. Briana's twin sister Kiana was operating on both ends, I tweeted both twins acrobatics put Barnum and Bailey to shame but the second quarter was simply exciting

In one particular play, Briana was at free throw line facing the other basket and with the ball over her head, threw a no look backwards pass to her sister for a lay-up, let me put it like this, if you watched the segment on the Chappelle show with Prince playing basketball, you sort of get where I'm going from this and it appeared they were on the verge of opening it up again

But once again the Spartans came back roaring and they actually took the lead as Arcy , Hutton and Alex Pierce got hot and led by one with 49 seconds left in the half. Then it happened, K Suber with an and one followed by back to back threes from Willaims and Meagan Daily gave Rudder a 34-26 lead at the half and they never looked back

Patrickia Daily created a lot of problems right from the start to help get the runs started but Rudder is solid and even when they subbed, they got production from everywhere, Meagan Daily with multiple threes, Teashton  Thompson and Cheyenne Nunley with huge rebounds and defensive plays , this team just kept coming at you and sort of reminded me of those exciting teams I was introduced to from Bryan area right after the turn of the century but this seasons team is heading to the Elite 8

The Suber twins are in town and they along with Meagan Daily and the rest of the team bring an impressive 31-4 record and Top 25 TABC ranking into town as they play Stratford 6:30 at Coleman

#TexasCamp attendees reads like Who's Who

I knew this picture of Lashaan Higgs and Jordan Hosey was going to come in handy however I asked them to pose together because I felt both would make the McDonald's All American team. Nevertheless, these two young ladies have already committed to the University of Texas and are two of the top 2015 players in the country. I wasn't smart enough to get Shae Routt and Charli Collier together, both have already committed to the Longhorns and get this, both are from the 2018 class. Adidas Crazy Fast crazy good at #SBEX

Let's be real, on paper, this is an impressive group. 6'4 Natasha Mack and 6'3 Jade Williams, followed by 6'1 Jessica Munoz, Mack actually made the Tip Sheet from #SBEX, read more, while Williams and Munoz are coming off excellent HS seasons. Throw in Jodi Atkins and Abby Lee, who are both a shade under the "magic number" and you're looking at five players around six feet

Jazz Taylor appeared to be back completely when I caught her in December, the Suber twins, Briana and Kiana, athleticism just overwhelms me at times while Sara Williams is carrying over the great job I saw her putting in at the one to the club season. I expect Madison Washington to explode at any time, she joins  a very talented group of players I'll catch again at the Heart of Texas next month

I wouldn't be caught in College Stattion, Texas 6 or even 290 but trust me the Suber twins are ready but so is Gabrielle Connally heading I-10 West as she's more than ready to lend a helping hand, how smooth was that!!!!!

 Brianna and Kianna Suber showcased their skills via Youtube video years ago and I'm associating that with my daughter still playing at Texas A&M. Fast forward to now and the Tip Sheet they made says it all, well some of it because a lot more is coming

Texas 2017 became even brighter as the Suber twins and Kiana Willliams were among many more young stars ready to make in impact in their freshmen season, awe forget it, enjoy the video

Blueprint has right design on opening day

Anything can be designed however that doesn't mean it will look good or work. She's Ballin Blueprint passes GPR specifications with flying colors on opening day and how could it not when you consider the material being used. In using a line from an old move, "build and they shall come" or something like that, I'm doing a remix and say have talent and they will come and there was plenty of talent and plenty of coaches

From 2014 superstars already committed to those looking to either impress someone or finalize what was out there for them, the Blueprint had it. I always love catching fresh faces I may not have seen or watching the progression of the younger ones I already had my eyes on and Gabby Connally is still ahead of the game

Several coaches commented about this 2018 player wearing #24 and asked me had I seen her and I responded, yeah like almost forever and unlike her sister Recee, Desiree had no problem with me taking her picture.

I also played catch-up with the Suber twins, Kiana and Briana and all I can say is WOW! The first time I saw them was in a video and it had to be around three or four years ago but in that video, I saw signs of greatness and after yesterday, expect lights to be blinking on those signs

I also hadn't seen Texas Elite-Adidas Christian this season however I knew they had a lot of power last year and as expected, nothing has changed. So much for me catching up, several outstanding teams and players were on hand at the event and as promised, there will be Tip Sheets from both Girlz Prep Report and Full Court coming, not to mention several other mini stories to hold you.
