Let The Games Begin- Games"Galore" that is!

Basketball is in the air once again, it's always in the air for me, but I'm talking about the high school action. In the second annual "Games Galore", many of the top kids in the city were on hand showing their skills and some on the verge of breaking out.

You had players, Schippers and Nash, about to go into their senior year that are going to play at the next level. Schippers has already given a commitment to Oklahoma State. These two will light you up!

You had kids who are changing uniforms like Alexis Chandler, one of the top 2012 players in the city and yet more basketball being played with baby "Tyson" in the house!!!!!!!!!

You had some Spring seniors looking forward to a great year and possible the playoffs and yet another Brooke sighting!

In all, I saw some great thing on the court. Even without "Danny" who gave a commitment to U of H, playing this weekend, Coach V's group at St. Pius looks like they are ready to do some damage this season. The Alodia team had 4 starters from Clear Creek playing and after coming off a great season last year, they appear to be headed in the right direction. Klein Collins played in one of, if not the toughest district in the area last season and are ready to take it to regionals and beyond. Lamar has made the playoffs several years in a row, however they are young and it will take some time for the kids to grow up, however the playoffs are within their reach. Humble made the playoffs last year and hope to do so again. Cy Ranch is looking forward to the playoffs and even though they will lose Ke Ke, Nash and Morris after this season, the future is bright with 3 yougsters that can shoot the lights out. Clements has some young talented players, the only problem is they are in the Fort Bend district which is year in and year out one of the toughest districts in Region 3. I got to see Jaz Johnson from Kingwood Park was everything I heard she was. Aldine has a good nucleus with Pruitt, Santarita and Dorsey and I think we will be seeing some improvement from the past season. Yes Prep is young and I look forward to seeing them later this season. More from "Games Galore" tomorrow.
