5'10 Kayla White puts on scary good performance at Boo

If you follow me on Twitter, you'll know my favorite original quote is "it's not what you do, it's who you do it against" and you should know because it's pinned there for a reason. Speaking of pinned, I'm multi-tasking at another event and read all this buzz going across the web about a player from Texas pinning shots on the backboard and scoring at will at Boo Williams and to know surprise it was Kayla White (DFW Elite EYBL)

I knew this young lady was special when she was in the 7th grade so me knowing is one thing, it always helps when the players are showing on the floor and a capacity crowd of college coaches saw her go completely off  in game one dropping five deep threes and 19 points to open things up. The scoring barrage continued over the next three games and the only thing that slowed the young lady down was food poisoning before the final game and she still was just shy of double digits averaging around 15 for the event

I just did a piece on her a few weeks ago, as I stated earlier I've been following this young lady for a very long time and watched her progression over the years, so when you're ultra athletic and can play basketball, not to mention shoot the ball from anywhere on the court, trust me, you're looking at someone special. Check out the link below and be ready to catch this young lady down the stretch because when I hashtag LEGIT, I'm not doing it just to be doing it

DC Queens 2023 Orange show up and out #LoneStarJam

One thing I always do is keep it real and in this day of telling parents and players what they want to hear so when someone tells me so and so has their 9 year old daughter 5th in the nation, I usually look at them like their crazy but that's what this is becoming, a lot like the boy's side. I measure talent on the way the game was played right around the turn of the century, you had players everywhere, it was more condensed and you could get a true idea on who was what but I took it a step further and had my 7th grade daughter playing on a team that was two years older and the team played up so using my phrase, it's not what you do, it's who you do it against sort of sets the stage for this talented DC Queens group I caught this past weekend as they played up in the 9th/10th grade division at Prime Time's Lone Star Jam

I love this picture of Victoria Flores flying through the air and she did it numerous times but I'm seeing in this young lady at this stage of her career has me thinking big things are ahead and the same could be said for many others on this squad including Crislyn Amari Rose who joined Flores on my Tip Sheets from the Lone Star Jam, links are at bottom, but I'm certain all of these players will be on one of my various tip sheets in the future

Nicole Morgan Weaver showed she could shoot the ball, mid to long range, consistently while Natalie Cardenas handles the ball easily and effortlessly under pressure as she sees the floor and scores well. Mackenzie Townsel and Tristen Jayde Taylor both are bursting with energy and their athleticism enables them to bring heat on both ends but even more so they enjoy doing it.

I've seen Vivian Jin a few times, knows how to create her shot in traffic and can knock it down but Zaniyah Johnson Andrews is definitely ahead of the game because she has size and goes after everything on the boards and I'm talking both ends. Madison McCloud attacks the basket from everywhere, she's strong and finishes strong, with contact.

This talented squad of 6th graders playing against high school talent showed me a lot and I truly could understand if some parents felt slighted that I missed them at Queen Of The Court, believe me I've been there, however this is what's known as a correctable error and I was truly impressed with not only the skill set of the squad but their poise and like Bonecrusher, they were "never scared" of the competition

2017 Ariel Elzie makes decision #GPRUnderTheRadar

Sometimes people get the misconception on what can and can’t be done and even though Ariel Elzie did not play her senior season in high school, based on what I had seen from the young lady over the past four seasons, I knew the next level wouldn’t be a problem. First of all, she’s 6’3, has good hand and nice footwork, plus she rebounded on both ends and passed well from the post position. On top of all of that, she has excellent timing so again, this was definitely going to happen and I asked her why she chose Allen Community College out of the double digit offers that popped up since we got started on the process a few weeks ago.

“I signed with Allen because I fell in love with the coaching staff and I think what Coach Todd Buchanan has to offer and with his background and basketball history, that will really help me not only become a better player but to also help me get to the next level “

I couldn’t agree more, Coach Buchanan and I go way back and I know this was definitely a perfect fit

5'9 2018 Jaquia White scores multiple ways as well as.......

The video below gives you a glimpse of talented 2018 Jaquia White's offensive skills, yes she can hit the midrange, drain the long range and finish with either hand however that first step and ability to create her shot in traffic, while nailing it isn't included. She also finishes well after contact plus she rebounds on both ends from the guard spot, she can play 1 or 2 and while mentioning her ability to create her own shot, she also can create for teammates s she sees the floor well

This is another talented young lady that caught my eye as a 7th grader, I knew this class would be really really good and I knew that Jacquia would be in the mix once everything was said and done. Her defensive game was always there yet she kept progressing on that as well as other aspects of her game and she's ready to showcase her skills with DFW Elite Nike Gold

5'10 2018 Kayla White doing a little bit of everything, well

When you're 5'10 and can shoot the three, the midrange, attack from anywhere on the floor and finish with contact, then you have a variety of offensive weapons which make you hard to handle or as I often put it, a nightmare to defend. Kayla White knows how to put the ball in the basket, can play multiple positions as well as defend and in these two videos which certainly don't show you everything she can do, it shows you enough to know what you're looking at

Watching her glide through the air as a 7th grader left no doubt in my mind I was watching a special young lady and her unselfishness on the floor may be one of her biggest attributes. She has the ability to simply take over games however she can drop 20 in the flow against stiff competition and has done just that over the years

Catch her this summer with DFW Elite's 16U  EYBL team and here's my latest evaluation on this very talented young lady who can play the 1-3

'18 D'Asia Collins already paying dividends #GPRUnderTheRadar

D'Asia Collins sold me almost 10 years ago, smart ad talented PG even back then and after breaking into HS, she made the adjustment with ease. Fast forward to now, she helped lead Cy Ranch to the state championship game in Texas this season and has already made a Tip Sheet to start the season

Always remember two things, it's not what you do, it's who you do it against and #sizedontmatter that is if you can play and Collins definitely has shown that

Make that three things, if I say it, you can take it to the bank, #NoAGENDA and more on all of the 2018 GPRUnderTheRadar players coming as well as UNSIGNED seniors al next week

2017 #IronSharpensIron MS action hot and heavy

Iron Sharpens Iron was another exciting event put on by PassThaBall and one thing I know is when the ball is passed, you need to be able to catch it and I caught something on every player in attendance and even some of the fans who I hadn't seen in ages. If you don't follow me on Twitter and or Instagram, now might be a good time because I'll be tweeting those pictures out on each player with a little twist so I'm giving you a heads up now

Speaking of heads up, I was even more impressed with Tyanna Herron and Amina Muhammad, as well as Breanna Davis who I just saw a week ago as well as Laila McCleod who I caught in Oklahoma a couple of weeks ago, this time around she made the Tip Sheet along with 13 others however since NO ONE does what I do, check me out on Twitter and Instagram as I drop it like its hot all day from MS session

DFW Elite #MarchFest Day 2 #TipSheet

KENNNEDY EVANS

Duncanville, Texas-March Fest closed on Sunday so I stopped by Duncanville to catch some of the younger players and I definitely left satisfied. Here is the Day 2 Tip Sheet, I’ll drop the other one from opening day later and please remember to follow me on Twitter and (or) Instagram for hidden gems

2018
Sydney Brock-guard (Austin Elite Black) did a little bit of everything, defended, hit the midrange and got to the rim whenever she wanted, oh and finished

Desiree Mathis-guard (Waco Lady Panthers) simply made things happen over and over, loved the intensity which she brings baseline to baseline

2021
Aniya Buckley-guard (DFW Elite) watching her early in the morning making highlight moves definitely gave me a boost. Nice pull-up, finished strong with contact

2022
Breana Davis-guard (Pro Skills) huge upside for this young lady, working on that complete package on the offensive end, already showing signs that she can take over

Amiya Muhammad –wing (NTX Elite 2022) already gets it, plays hard on both ends, scores in the paint, either hand, can handle the ball in the open court under pressure, first step is a killer from the wing, great timing

2023
Giselle Maul-guard (Nike Cy Fair Elite Shooters) nice midrange but her ability to create her shot in traffic was solid as well. Finds ways to get to the rim and finishes strong

Hazel Hawkins-guard (Texas Lone Star) plays smart and under control, hit teammates with perfect passes during crunch time, also knows how to score multiple ways, good BB-IQ

2024

Kennedy Evans (Nike Cy Fair Elite Shooters 2024) talk about wanting the ball in crunch time and being able to deliver, I mean she definitely sold me on what’s coming. She can shoot the three, hit the midrange, make acrobatic finishes with contact, handle the ball and defend, oh, btw, she’s 11

NTX Elite 2022 has plenty of bright stars #MarchFest

I never want anyone to get the misconception that their time is more important than mine because in my world it definitely so I made sure to go and catch NTX Elite 2022 since Coach Gatewood was gracious enough to send me his roster and II certainly was glad he did because he has some players on that squad. Due to time constraints, I was only able to catch a half but I saw a whole lot so her you go. Samaya Smith just made my Battle at the Hive the previous week playing for the Arkansas Mavericks so I had a glimpse of what she could do already however this time around, more intensity from the talented 6'2 8th grader and I loved how she was playing the passing lane because with her wing-span and athleticism, this young lady could definitely go to another stratosphere

Tionna Herron is 6'3, unlimited potential and she already gets it but she has good timing which enables her to altar and, or block shots and when you add good footwork and hands, she too has a very bright future. Madison Crandall is a big guard, 5'9, with unlimited range. I've tweeted about her a few times when I caught her, I think the first time was 3 years ago and I love how she continues to progress. This team had several players I was trying to figure out who I'd put on the Tip Sheet but Amina Muhammad did so much in the short span that she gets the nod and you can catch that probably tomorrow as I drop the Day 2 Tip Sheet from March Fest

Jamia Harris brought so much energy that I got tired, okay I was already tired but she simply goes hard every play and that in itself will carry her a long way however she also has a "stroke" and her ability to not only create her shot but deliver consistently tells me something already. Then we have Mikayla Gatewood who just left me speechless watching her in the open court. She attacks from any angle on the court and finishes strong, with contact. Nice form on her shot, saw the midrange and defense but her BB-IQ is as strong as her ability to run a team which she did extremely well

OK Lady Fire 2022 get it done #BattleAtTheHive

Darianna Buggs

Okay I had to throw this out there since on opening night, Modesti McConnell went completely off and I tweeted she a #TipSheetLock, catch her on girlzprepreport.com tomorrow sometime but in all actuality, this is a very talented squad with some players that will be playing in college at some level as they captured the 2022 Gold Division Championship at the Battle at the Hive.

Modesti McConnell (#1) and Olivia Johnson

Loved watching Olivia Johnson thread the needle with crisp passes on the money, that's huge in HS let alone the 7th grade but her ball handling, under pressure, definitely caught my eye. Azjah Reeves simply gets to the rim whenever and however she wants and also showed the ability to hang in the air for countless baskets as well as shoot the midrange well. The same could be said for Summer Pogue who is able to create under pressure and score multiple ways

Aniya Brown

Aniya Brown created problems in the paint, on both ends at that and when you're this young and not afraid of physicality, well you're definitely in the mix and that desire and relentlessness she shows just can't be taught. Being ULTRA-athletic can't be taught either and Darriana Buggs looked like a D1 player in the making on Friday night however after watching her put on a show Sunday morning, the question is how high she can go as she simply showed signs of being able to dominate
