I have a knack for using acronyms, primarily because my voice activated software doesn't work well with my voice and I hate to type so UTR is GPR talk for Under The Radar. There are several players capable of playing at the next level year after year that somehow fall through the cracks however sometimes things still fall into place. Taylor Overshon is a scoring machine at Eisenhower, can take you off the dribble, nail the mid-range and can knock down the long ball. She is also one of the kids creating buzz among the instructors with her athleticism.
Ashlyn Hargraves takes some of the coolest pictures and her picture perfect jumper was dropping left and right at Basketball On The Bayou and the Adidas Grand Finale. Hargraves is a long range bomber and when she's on, she's as good as anyone and had several games with 5 or more threes in those two tournaments
Diominisha Sophus scored at will against 4A competition finishing as one of the top scorers in the city at Wheatley. The thing about 4A competition in our area is it's not 5A, so sometimes, just sometimes everything isn't what it seems. That rule doesn't apply to Sophus as she can score against almost anyone. Lightning quick with a spectacular crossover, D can Deeeee you up!
Shernise Robertson was probably the best sixth man in the area last season as Cy Falls had a record setting season. A preseason AGH selection, Robertson brought athleticism and scoring off the bench and will play a key role again this season as they make another run for a state title.
