#CFInvite 2015 starts now

Another Cy Fair Invitational is set to begin in a couple of hours and I'm just playing out some scenarios in my head on what to anticipate as I camp out at Cy Ranch all day today. The highlight game on paper would be Cy Fair Ogwumike vs Texas United at 7:55 featuring Joyner Holmes (Cy Fair) and Lauren Cox (Texas United) a couple of players I said that would be MDAA when they were in middle school and out of all these years I've been only wrong once but shouldn't have been


Pictured above are a couple of other players I said the same thing would happen while they were in middle school, Cy Fair's Chasity Patterson and Deauzya Richards and I'm in pretty good shape on that as well. Several outstanding teams and players will have a chance to be evaluated by me, well provided their coaches turned in correct rosters but I guess I'll be using the same hashtag I did last year

Skyrise closing gap with Lights Out in 8th grad division #CFInvite

Mackenzie Green and Amanda Ferry all smiles after her Skyrise team won second place against N T Lights Out in the 8th grade division which was simply loaded with talented teams and players. I mean I've seen Pebbles, Imperial Ice and SA Finest Red numerous times, as well as many of the  Skyrise players. Ice still won't melt #CFInvite

With the merger of AD Elite and Imperial Ice, I already sort of knew how this was going to turn out. First of all Shae Routt, who even though committed to Texas before her high school game wasn't going to just pan out, she keeps adding to it and watching her score while hanging in the air on yesterday simply had me shaking my head and smiling. I loved Star Omozee and Enisha Fowler's games last season, both oozed with athleticism and energy and while Fowler's game has become smoother her ability to finish with contact will be creating problems. Omozee is showing signs of creating another set of problems, she's relentless and just won't back down on both ends of the paint

This has got to be the Year of the Twin because the Dilworth and Truong duo's are about to explode. Jhakya  and Keziah Dilworth are also athletic and let me add "ultra" in front of it as their both fluid on what they do and it shows how they do it. Keziah certainly woke me up when she split two defenders and crossed another in the open court for a basket and I had enough time to open my water and take a sip while Jhakya hung in mid air for a basket but it just doesn't stop and speaking of hanging in mid air, that Truong duo is doing some unreal things, like magic

Look at this picture, Kaylynne ain't got no beard so you see what I'm talking about when I say magic. They're no look alley-oops on the money, Kaylynne might break the states three point record as she can catch and shoot with the best in the state right now while Kayleigh's is midrange is deadly and she loves setting defenders up off the dribble. Both are not only very smart basketball players but equally unselfish so I'll catch their high school act and watch their "and one's waiting to happen" among other things they got going on. Oh yeah, Taylor Thomas who has always been somewhat of a silent assassin on the team, well after her performance at the Cy Fair Invitational, ain't nothing going be silent starting with this

Texas United-Dreary at #CFInvite

I can't tell you how much enjoyment I got of watching Jordan Hamilton, Rebecca Lescay and the rest of their TPE teammates last season because they gave me plenty of excitement and entertainment. Joining forces would be a young lady who impressed me in middle school, Gabby Gregory and another who impressed me in what seems like eons ago, maybe she was in Pre-K, Jae "I know the way" Branch but let me say this, a healthy Dee Moore will be huge for this team, more to come

'15 Burke is BACK after #CFInvite

Katie Burke has found her groove again and after coming back from a nagging ankle injury, she's had an impressive club season with MC Legends this year. Burke is coming of a terrific Cy Fair Invitational where she averaged double digits while handing out assists in droves and the 2015 Under The Radar point guard will be on hand at the Heart Of Texas

I didn't get to see the little LadyBig Dogs play but I saw the big ones and let me say this, I had the foresight to know that Maci Forsythe would be doing some impressive things this past weekend, guess what, right again. I'm not finished with Prime Time Saturday or Cy Fair Sunday but I am rushing to be in compliance with the all important Girlz Prep Report scouting service

College coaches, I'm all over the place, I not only see talent, I know talent and always remember, I have no agendas and this just in, I have been NCAA approved once again.

Plenty of Heroes at #CFInvite

Southern Phenoms 2016 Blue #CFInvite

I spoke with the Southern Phenoms coach and he mentioned I had written about his daughter a few years ago and that followed me and this is how he found out about the Cy Fair Invitational, so after we chatted about his players and I remembered his daughter, I made it a point to catch their 2016 team and I was glad that I did because they have a very athletic team that applied heat from multiple positions. Deboney Wilson and Jatian Latham can both attack and shoot plus defend while the inside presence of Azaria Howard (2017) and Curtisha Louman was hard to handle as both are simply bigs that get after it and I'm talking about running the floor after igniting the break and finishing on the other end

Dhanyaa Kennedy made some unreal passes and finishes and when you look up "no look" pass in thr dictionary you should see a pic of Bre McCullah and to top that off both play the passing lane, well the whole team does. I love high energy, especially when I'm drained and their game was toward the tourney close but when you talk about draining, Mallory Adams can shoot the three off the dribble from all around the arc. I tweeted Canesha Stamps had my "stamp of approval" and for some reason I've already seen what Danyelle Lewis can do somewhere before but this is a talented squad

Hopefully I get to see the 2018 team, that 6'4 player simply has it I haven't even seen her play but talking with the young ladies, I know I'll be in for a treat next season. The biggest treat of all came the best way I can give you, with an analogy. If you know anything about Cracker Jacks, you know they come with a prize and Shontae' Hailes was one of the sweetest prizes of the event as she makes the Tip Sheet

Breakout Crossover at #CFInvite

Unique Finley is just one of those players that brings it the whole game, on both ends and it doesn't matter if it's club or HS, she lives for the action. She and her Crossover teammate Ariana Sanders both showed they can do damage on both ends at the Cy Fair Invitational, Sanders in fact dropped over 20 in a Saturday game

Fury unleashed at #CFInvite

Another solid program I've enjoyed watching over the years has been the Fury and they always manage to find ways to be in the hunt. At the Cy Fair Invitational, they showed an abundance of talented players close to the magic number that could do multiple things. Taylor Lacour, Maddie Anderson and Amanda Johnson all played for Georgetown, Johnson in fact averaged over 20 ppg for the event. I'm getting ready for round 2 #CFInvite

I'm going to take a cue from SA Finest bright young star Corina Carter ( SA Finest Diamond) and get my hair ready, well along with everything else as I get ready to cover round 2 of the Cy Fair Invitational. Carter was her ever so spectacular self on day 1 and this morning I'll start with some of the younger teams at Cy Woods and get a chance to see some more up and coming talent like Jesse Paz Y Puennte (SA Finest Gold) along with my ICE partners Shae "It's a Routt" Taylor Thomas and if one set of twins wasn't enough, the Dilworth's and the Truong's start me off at 8am

Lady Warriors 2019, gotta see Nina, Mikayla, Sonia and the rest of their star studded young team along with GTE Grey and Jessica Esclovon at 9:05 and I'' catch half of Jesse's game at 10:10 as they battle Urban Heroes Elite before heading back to Cy Ranch to close the day out.

AD Elite, Cy Fair Ogwumike, SA Finest Blue and Texas United were the top teams in the top division and I'll throw a quick rundown on the four on the website

I'll also drop some more teams from the Insiders Hoopfest, which was a GPR CERTIFIED event so it doesn't matter if you beat a team I'm writing about somewhere else, that's irrelevant to me because I don't care who wins or losses, I'm looking for players that can play at the next level
