'16 Katie Owen ready for #AutoAwesome July #UnderTheRadar

Someone asked me about what caught my eye about Katie Owen the first time I saw her playing for Deer Park and I told them "her stroke". I was covering the Texas Invitational, the other TI and I happened to catch her school team by accident since my primary focus was on the other group of teams playing right behind each other. Owen showed me she could score in bunches quickly, if I'm not mistaken she dropped something like 12 or 13 in a span of just over two minutes

Fast forward to club ball, hey ain't nothing changed as she's dropping the long ball with ease for Texas Elite Adipure and when you throw in the midrange, well you know this young lady simply is one of those players that can definitely play at the next level based on not only her scoring but her comprehension of the game. Owen puts up #AutoAwesome performance for Deer Park

The camera and Google+ like me don't lie and watching '16 Katie Owen go to work for Deer Park at the Texas Invitational was a work of art. Owen continues to show me she can create, I already knew she could shoot but she's becoming more of the type of player I love talking about and that;s those who simply find ways to get the ball in the basket, either by themselves or others, which goes back to my using the word "create"

Own helped lead Deer Park to the Bronze Championship in Division 2 at the Texas Invitational and as you can see from the stands, the place was packed and Katie had em rockin

'16 Owen ready for #Hoopfest with Texas Elite Phenoms

I've seen Deer Park's Katie Owen do some pretty impressive things in a short span of time and this #AutoAwesome photo doesn't do her justice as the sharpshooter's explosiveness is what I'm getting pumped to see at next weekends Insiders Hoopfest

Owen will be rolling with Texas Elite Phenoms and their roster reads like a Who's Who with some of the most talented juniors in the state and of course, I'll be bring you the play by play, well not really, but on the court tweets and magical Tip Sheets as the rankings will change before the April 24th exposure events

GPR Under The Radar stars at #TXEEVAL were #AutoAwesome

'16 Katie Owen showing that stroke as #AutoAwesome captured her performance but the GPR Under The Radar star wasn't the only player putting in work at the camp. I don't know the exact count but I know there were a lot of players so I'm guessing at least 75 in the two sessions. Owen sent a message loud  and clear that her most important summer will be one that needs to be reckoned with. '16 Madison and '18 Mikayla Schenck, a couple of D1 locks that happen to be GPR Under The Radar stars as well, were also in attendance for the skills session however they didn't compete in the scrimmages because they are preparing for the Homeschool State Tournament

Madison, like Owen, is ready to go out with a bang while Mikayla has solidified her spot as one of the states top freshman. I'll have a couple of Tip Sheets and if you don't follow me on Twitter, oh well, you're going to miss some other interesting stuff

Texas Elite Phenoms win #Hoopfest WNBA Blue

Jakeria Ford, Alyssa Okeone and Jasmyne Harris are the foundation that has been in place the longest and are, let me hashtag it, #D1LOCKS and you can throw the key away, yeah I've used that line but it sounds so good. Ford's upside is amazing, she doesn't realize how good she can be while Okeone has developed into one of the states top players above the magic number, she's 6'2 with a long wingspan, but can score facing the basket and from the wing off the dribble and Harris, well let me SIM it up like this, she's 5'9 and plays above the rim but read the Tip Sheet

Tip Sheet on Jasmyne Harris

Losing Joyce Kennerson was a void that needed to be filled however Kyler Wyatt brinbgs so much energy on both ends plus can score, three ball included has helped the transition. Ford, Harris, Alanna Spencer and Katie Owen also can shoot the long ball, I called Alanna " Spencer for Hire" and although yall might not catch some of this but with the magic of Google you can get it. Owen might wind up being the X factor on this squad before it's all said and done, sort of like a silent assassin waiting and you talk about waiting, Makeedah Collins has been waiting her turn for a minute and the effort she brings in the paint on both ends will spell relief. Poised beyond her years, freshman Dymond Gladney has shown before it's all said and done she could be "flawless" as the tools are there and the valuable experience she's getting from being "in the heat" will show that it's going hard to melt a Dymond, yeah that was priceless

'16 Owen ready for spotlight at #TXInvitational

Deer Park's Katie Owen has shown me she can definitely create some problems on thew basketball court over the summer and she's ready to help lead her Deer Park teammates to battle this weekend at the Texas Invitational. Deer Park will be playing in the Division 2 portion of the event however there is talent throughout the tournament and you can see it by clicking right here

Peggy Whitley Classic all day Thursday

Deer Park's Katie Owen has the fork and I'll bring the knife as I cut through the Peggy Whitley Classic's teams all day but as I glance at the bracket, that potential 3pm game looks very interesting if Irenisha Johnson is back for the Cardinals

Owen however is one of my must players, the Under The Radar Unsigned senior has been a capable scorer throughout her career and nothing has changed so here's the bracket
