Tip Sheets galore from 40/40

I think this picture will close the Tip Sheet portion of the John Lucas 40/40 Camp as it has it has a touch of everything much improved Tiff Valentine and Ameyia Jackson, MDAA candidate Jordan Hosey, well if I had a vote she's definitely have mine along with Dominique Broadus, a former Tip Sheeter herself from Missouri and yes SHEETER is a word, along with the pink ball floating right at me

Over 30 players on three Tip Sheets, mini stories, tidbits and excellent quotes from yours truly throughout the blog and on Twitter, on top of  all that, the 40/40 was simply breathtaking

40/40 Countdown starts now

Two of the things that pop into my head from this picture is the ball is pink and the players had to think as I'm throwing you a Monday morning rhyme promoting my return to cover the John Lucas 40/40 Combine September 6-7 . I covered it last year and I was somewhat overwhelmed by the talent in this type of setting and based on the invites that have gone out and calls I've received, I think this season will be even better

The 2015 Kingwood Under The Radar trio of Charlotte Hodges (HBU) Brooke Jolivette (North Texas) and Gabby Stanton (Rice) were among the standouts last season and I'm sure you'll be hearing about a wide array of talent that will be signing early next season like they will in November

'15 Under The Radar Driver will be at 40/40

Tana Driver is one of the best guards in the state and on the #sizedontmatter board. One thing about her, you won't bored watching her as TD for THREEEEE combined with #AutoAwesome has me anticipating even more excitement at the Juhn Lucas 40/40

'18 Collier #AutoAwesome at #4040JohnLucas as she joins Carter at ........

There were several rumors floating around on where Charli Collier was playing as she enters her first season of high school and I knew sooner or later I'd catch up with her and find out. Collier was on hand for opening day at the John Lucas 40/40 Combine and her dominance had me tweeting she was #HookEm ready right now. Many probably wonder why I make such outlandish statements about kids so young, well don't wonder, some just have it and I haven't been wrong yet

Kimi taking a drink of water at #40/40

Collier will be teaming up with another "Combine" attendee, Kimi Carter who I've been knowing like forever and after watching Kimberly's performance at the 40/40, Barbers Hill has a good shot at making a deep run and wouldn't it be ironic if Cater closes out her career like she opened it her freshman season, playing for a state title

Columbia commit Tippet has strong 40/40

This picture sort of says it all as Paige Tippet will be the third sister I've watched graduate after stellar careers in high school, older sister Lauren actually is now an assistant at HBU. Paige wants to go out with a bang and after a strong showing at the John Lucas 40/40, I think her Clear Springs team will pull off a few surprises as she and Texas commit could combine for 40 plus an exciting group of freshmen ready to have the torch passed to them

Cook is in the kitchen and ready to turn up heat at 40/40

Faith Cook was on the GPR map as a 6th grader and after watching her drop 40 on array of jumpers from everywhere a  year later, there was no doubt she would explode on the scene high school. As usual, my prediction was correct, it ain't bragging if you actually do it over and over and more importantly document it but the Goose Creek Memorial star is ready for whatever as she joins a group of super sophs this weekend at the John Lucas 40/40

Girlz  Prep Report will be there live on both days bring you cover to cover, uhhh, well coverage!!!!!

John Lucas 40/40 Camp closes with a message

I'm going to use an old Jack Webb from Dragnet saying when I bring you all this stuff from the 40/40 Camp or any other event that I cover and it's "just the facts." Over the past year, I've had a chance to expand what I've done with multiple camps and events and even venture out of Texas and taking notice of our surrounding states and along the way using the hashtag #talentiseverywhere. This picture is somewhat of a Who's Who that will be stars at the next level and these young ladies from the east coast left more than a lasting impression and you'll see as I start rolling things out

First Tip Sheet up will be the one from Full Court featuring ten of the top national players in the country, many of whom have already made their commitments from various classes. I'll follow that up with my own for Girlzprepreport.com and in between I'll throw stuff at ya cause that's how I roll so follow the pink ball throughout the week

McCarty shines at 40/40

I don't know how I did this picture, at times I think that maybe I should take a class or just read the manual but then I come to senses again because that's not me, I focus on evaluating talent because I'm good it and by the numerous typos you see I'm not a journalist either. One thing I know how to do is break a players game down and the three pics of Brooke McCarty sums it up like this

1.She's the prototype point guard that can run a team and not turn the ball over
2.She makes her teammates better
3.She can take over a game when needed

It's as simple as that and she's done it against some of the top players in the country and as the ride is almost over, she made yet another Tip Sheet, this one from the John Lucas 40/40 Camp

Darby does it all at 40/40

After hearing all the buzz about Darby Maggard, I had to see her and Tana Driver battle each other and it was a treat. Driver, who made the trip down to the John Lucas 40/40 with Irving MacArthur teammate Tory Jacobs is one of the best 2015 players in the state, no matter what height and she's also one of my Under The Radar players however that changed tremendously over the summer

Maggard, like Driver doesn't let her size be a deterrent and since this was my first time seeing her, I was totally pleased by what I saw not only from Maggard but the duo. Driver has made several tip sheets, I got Maggard on this one

Hopkins among super sophs as 40/40 tips off

After watching Hannah Hopkins in middle school, I expected things from her as she and Anacia Wilkinson would form a very talented young twin tower duo at Atascocita. Things didn't go how I expected, Hopkins wound up running into those three letters, ACL and missed the season or the vast majority of it. Here's the good news, I checked her out back in June and even though I didn't see her in game situation, I'm sure she'll be ready for this weekend a s she joins as talented group of youngstas at the John Lucas 40/40 Camp

Georgia Tech commit O'neil keeps it real at 40/40

I enjoyed watching Zaire O'neil so much in July that it wasn't anything less than a joy to see her doing her thing the John Lucas 40/40. That spin move creates a lot of problems, it;s better than a lot of guys and she's physical with a soft touch and that's why

Butler's 40/40 performance elevates her even more off the ground

Jasmine Butler helped lead Pearland to the area Final 4 last season, she helped her Cy Fair Nike Elite team do it in several July events this season and she's ain't done. It's all progression and even though two years ago I saw next level for her, after her performance at the 40/40, I'm seeing BCS in year three, that's a gift and you might wanna

Coming up later-monster class get's loose at 40/40

Treazure Mouton takes her high flying acrobatic show to Hightower this season but more importantly, she's becoming a key part of the areas 2017 group of can't misses. Here's the deal, 2017 is a MONSTER but not just here in Texas, trust me on that and I'll chat, well write about that later today after observing the 40/40

Sophomores looking to turn super after 40/40

Sentreal Gregory and Angela Harris definitely weren't the only players going after it however both will be keys to how far their Westside and Cy Fair high school teams go because we all know, well should know, that the game starts at the one. Gregory and Cook were among the talented sophomores on hand at the John Lucas 40/40 Camp

40/40 day one leaves lasting impression

I think this picture says it all as everyone is looking up after opening day of the John Lucas 40/40 Camp and you don't need 20/20 vision to know that there some basketball players in attendance that were simply off the chain. From future  BCS Charli Collier (2018) to several young ladies who have already committed and are in the running for MDAA consideration, this was simply a joy to watch as they just got after it

I'll be bringing you a wrap-up, some mini-stories and of course tip sheets from both GPR and Full Court but as you can see in the above picture, the young ladies are still busy working so let me get back

'18 Patin ready for 40/40 plus

I'll never forget catching Rayven Patin on day 2 when I covered John Lucas All Star Weekend in New Orleans and after see her throw a couple of passes, I knew something was definitely up and as usual I was correct. The Under The Radar star was one of the standouts at Lucas 60/60 as well as Prime Time Nationals with her New Orleans Lady Trojans squad and the future Cabrini HS star, trust me, will be on hand for the 40/40 as the countdown continues

Collier ready for 40/40

Charli Collier isn't a CC of anyone I've seen at this age yet she shows a little bit of this and a little bit of that i her game. Already close to 6'3, Collier is one of the, wait, the only middle school player that will be in attendance at the John Lucas 40/40 Camp this weekend. Collier is going to make a run at numerous award before it's all said and done but BCS is a lock if she chooses

One more time, I'm doing dual duty, GPR and Full Court,  on this camp as several big names are in attendance so stay tuned and be ready

#Yeeeeeeeeeee means Yay as Williams will be at #40/40

Kiana Williams received so much mail from colleges that the post office might have to add a new zip code, top that one. The 2017 star has BCS offers on the table to go along with those letters and she will be on hand at the John Lucas 40/40 next month, check out the EVENTS tab because I'm locking in dates like Williams locks it down D
