Playoffs less than a month away

This stuff is really about to get interesting

13-5A

Dekaney appears to be the team that will win the district and after Klein's victory over Klein Oak, couples with Westfield's loss, four teams, Klein Collins, Klein Forest, Klein and Oak will fight for three spots.

14-5A

The Woodlands are sitting pretty right now and their rematch with Atascocita should be a battle. The Taz got a scare from College Park last night and these three teams will make the playoffs, it's up in the air for the fourth spot

17-5A

Cy Falls is in pretty good shape and appears on their way to winning their first district title after a very impressive victory over Cy Creek. Down the stretch, they will have to play defending State Champion Cy Fair who appears to be in good shape for runner-up, along with Cy Woods, Cy Ranch and Langham Creek. The last three, along with Cy Creek will probably fight it out for the last two spots.

18-5A

Elsik leads the district and has already defeated Alief Taylor and Eisenhower who will battle for second place, Taylor won the first meeting against Ike last night. Here's an interesting post I saw on Twitter. The players on Elsik's varsity have never lost a district game, it appears they won't this season either.

19-5A

Memorial was in great shape after knocking off state ranked Katy Taylor and had sole possesion of first place, however after being upset by Katy, the district title might be hard to grab since they play at Taylor the second go round.  Cinco Ranch and Mayde Creek are ahead of a team I thought would be a sleeper, Seven Lakes, but they probably wouldn't have if not for the injury to Kristin Inman.

20-5A

Westside, Bellaire and Madison have been the best three teams over the last decade in HISD, they still are. Westbury and Lamar will fight it out for the last playoff spot, GPR will be at Butler on Tuesday night for the first district match-up between the top two teams, Bellaire and Westside. Westside won a nail biter in their first meeting, in the HISD Tournament Championship.

21-5A

North Shore will win district again and make the playoffs, no doubt about that. Beaumont Westbrook, Port Arthur Memorial and Channelview appear to be in as well.

22-5A

Too early to call, the top three teams right now are Deer Park, Sam Rayburn and Pasadena Memorial and three other teams, Dobie, South Houston and Pasadena, are just a striking distance away.

23-5A

Who said this has consistently been the top district in our area for over 10 years? I DID! Four teams are tied for first place, Hightower, Austin, Kempner and Elkins, while a couple of other teams, Clements and Dulles are within reach. Donielle Breaux's return has elevated Elkins chances tremendously.

24-5A

I called Clear Springs a sleeper also, however they're healthy so you better not SLEEP on them. With an assortment of outstanding guards, this team has pulled off some impressive victories. Clear lake, Pearland and Clear Creek are the next three teams, Kia Love's Clear Brook team is still within shouting distance
