Big Tuesday Action-1/25

Playoffs begin in a little over three weeks and several big games are coming up to determine who wins their district along with who makes the playoffs.

13-5A

Dekaney will in district, it's only a matter of will they go undefeated. Out of their 5 remaining games, Klein Forest have come closer than any district team, they lost by 19. There are two games that involve four teams still in the hunt for three spots, Klein Collins @ Klein Oak and Klein Forest @ Klein. Klein Oak pulled off an upset against Collins on the road the first go round, Klein pulled off an even bigger upset also on the road on a last second banker from Ashley Alexander

Colins and Oak are tied fourth place, loser will drop to fifth. Klein and KF are tied for second, loser will be tied for third

14-5A

The Woodlands travel to Atascocita and will either leave tied for the district lead or have the district championship in the bag. The Taz lost the first game after Curtyce Knox went down early in first quarter and are looking for revenge. In case there is a tie, I don't know what the rules are for a tiebreaker, some flip a coin, some play a playoff, some use margin of victory average and some go by who won it last. I'm sure there are others I'm not aware of but both teams are ranked in TABC Top 25.

17-5A

Cy Woods @ Cy Ranch. Woods has one loss in district, 52-50 to Cy Fair in their one and only meeting, they are tied for second place. Some district have certain teams playing each other only once, which is good news for many teams and a tough break for others. Woods is two games ahead of Ranch and Cy Creek, who are tied for fourth place and a game behind Cy Falls, the number one team in the state. Their only meeting will be February 8th.

19-5A

Memorial @ Cinco Ranch and Katy Taylor @ Mayde Creek are two giant games in the district. Memorial and Cinco are tied for second place, a game behind Katy Taylor. Mayde Creek is in fourth place, a game ahead of Seven Lakes.
