'18 Jessica Murcer update

Jessica Murcer was one of the top young guards I saw last July and last week her  Westmoore HS knocked off the #2 ranked Southmoore Sabercats 61-54, Jess had 14 points. Then they defeated crosstown rival Moore 73-28 and Murcer led all scorers with 22 points. With these 2 wins Westmoore won the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference. Three of the top 5 ranked teams are in this conference with a fourth team ranked tenth. This is Westmoore's first Conference title in 13 years.

'18 Murcer hit at TOC #UnderTheRadar

Jessica Murcer sold me last season at Prime Time Nationals and to be perfectly honest, I really don't know how high she'll land once it's all said and done but I do know she's a D1 player with unlimited upside. She has numerous thing things that start with S going for her, smart, skilled, shooter, scorer and steals but one of the things you can't teach, speed, and I mean with the ball just has her as a gem that you will be hearing  a lot about

At the Nike TOC, she went completely off with her 2018 team averaging just under 18 ppg, this included a 31 point outburst on the squad that only 6 players as they finished 3-2. She then played in the division title game with the 2016 squad and dropped 11 in only 8 minutes. Murcer is one of the "girls" in the 2018 class, if you haven't heard about her you will eventually

'18 Jessicca Murcer getting it done in Oklahoma #UnderTheRadar

I caught Jessica Murcer at Prime Time Nationals last season and the 2018 guard had me fixated on whatever court she happened to be playing on. Murcer simply did a little bit everything and her speed and energy left me speechless at times but one thing is for certain, I was looking at a talented young lady.

She is a freshman at Westmoore High School in Moore, OK. Jessi is leading her team in scoring averaging 17.5 points per game. The team is currently ranked 4th in 6A with an 18-3 record. This is Westmoore’s best record and highest ranking in 13 years. They finished last season ranked 18th. Her team returned 4 starters from last year. Jess is the only new starter this season and big things a re coming including video

'18 Jessi Murcer still getting it done #UnderTheRadar

One thing I'm great at is spotting talented players and when I caught Jessica Murcer, yeah her uncle played for the Yankees, last season at Prime Time Nationals, I was speechless at watching her do what she was doing against who she was doing and she had yet t score her first high school basket. Well she's putting numbers all over the place in HS and she will be at  Texas A&M Camp showing the staff what I've seen

OK Swish 2019 #BattleAtTheHive

When I found out Jessica Murcer had a younger sister that could play and her team would be playing in the Battle At The Hive, I definitely wanted to check the squad out and as it turns out, yes she can play but she's not the only one. Murcer is a good ball handler and captures the concept of the game which is great because there's nothing like a smart point guard. She can a run a team and drop deep ones but that acceleration is there as well because she can do damage off the dribble. Olivia Curtis dropped the midrange consistently, she too sees the floor well and what about Elise Foreman, let me just say ZONEBUSTER because she can launch them accurately from everwhere

Turner Mattingly-Harnden was simply as awesome as this #AutoAwesome picture and I just got tired of writing about what she could do and put package because her game is definitely on point for big things and watching someone this age mastering touch passes simply blew me away. I had her mixed up with Jayce Freshour who along with Christina Shadid, Kelsi Fitzgerald and Makenzie Richards sort of fill in the blanks but show a lot of promise and upside and it also helps when you know the game

Cur'Tiera Haywood at 6'1 has the potential to go BCS, that size and desire on both ends alone is a rare quality mixed with her athleticism and ability to finish in the paint or by facing the basket but I think I liked her hands most of all because she simply caught just about everything. Grace Niuehes at 6'0 has something you can't teach and when you're in the paint with her, be ready for a battle because this young lady simply won't give up and was one of the best rebounders on both ends I saw at the event

'18 Jessica Murcer speeding up rankings #UnderTheRadar

The picture tells it all as talented '18 point guard is simply over the top, I saw that at Prime Time Nationals last season watching from atop and afar. Well actually all I saw was this blur anticipating passes and outrunning everyone for layups or blowing by defenders from everywhere on the floor. I packed up my camera and cookies and went downstairs because I just didn't believe what I was seeing

I go downstairs and I'm her drop a 20 and then 25 footer and then hit 30 plus footer at the buzzer and I was simply blown away and the various stories sort of tell the tale on the talented Oklahoma Stars 16U star who will be in Chicago at the TOC and if SJC tells you something, you might want to take a look

2014 PTN Final 4 Tip Sheet 9th Grade #PrimeTimeNationals

2018 Jessica Murcer is simply one of those players I didn't have to take notes on and what she  does from the point guard position is simply what I love in those players and that's the ability to take the game over when needed but also know who to get ball to and when. Her play was vital in the Oklahoma Stars winning the 9th Grade Division and she joins 7 others on my Tip Sheet
