2016 Cierra Johnson impressive

Check out the video, she can definitely go

Cardinals hold off Cougars

Cinco Ranch traveled to Bellaire and jumped out to an early 6-2 lead however the Cardinals have the ability to score in bunches from a variety of players. Down 30-22, the Cougars found themselves even deeper in a hole as the lead went up to 20 however they wouldn't quit and cut it to five, 43-38 after three.

The Cardinals however seemed to turn it on at various stages of the game and wound winning going away with AJ Alix, Lulu McKinney and Brianne Jolivet scoring from inside and outside. This was a good test for both teams as they will be at Sandra Meadows next week

One of the best you may not know about

Ann Nwosah is simply a BEAST when she steps on the court. Will this be the year LC get's out? Scanning their roster, with no seniors, if not this season then they have to be a front runner for next.

Not enough info? Monday assignment, search bar at top of page! All you need is a name and I report the game!!!!!

AJ Alix "The Real Deal" on why TCU

As talented as she is on the court, she's equally gifted off as her GPA and test scores are off the charts but you probably could this pick up from the great interview done by @hshopefuls

2018 "Young Gun" alert

Jaicia Canady wore #125 at the "Young Guns" camp I evaluated a few weeks ago and in revisiting my notes on certain skills, she was one of many who have stars galore next to her name. Speaking of stars, she's standing next to one of the best players in the country, Baylor's Odyssey Sims who was quite a "Young Gun" herself when I first saw her in what seems like an eternity ago

Follow @DFWELITE_2018  to hear about more of the "Young Guns" I'll be blowing up for many years to come

Saturday HISD 4A action

Checked out a doubleheader at Delmar on Saturday, first game Kashmere vs Jones and the second one was Sterling against Furr. You never know where you'll find talented players and there were some on the court however without any rosters on Maxpreps or even the Chronicle, there is no way to give you their names

I'm thinking Wheatley might have an edge, I'll see them before the season is over, but the main thing I'm doing is looking for players who can play at the next level because a lot of these kids don't know, or for whatever reasons, don't play in the summer however I've been known to find some unknowns that have made differences for many colleges over the years

Monday will be "The Real Deal"

AJ Alix is rolling right along before she heads to TCU next year. Right now, she continues to help lead Bellaire in their journey to get out of here and based on what I've this season, anything is possible. The Cardinals defeated Clear Springs in the Texas Invitational and stayed with Duncanville much of the first half of the TI championship and this wasn't a "Tiny" feat, get it, TI and Tiny?

Anyway the Cards host Cinco Ranch on Monday night and what appeared to be a promising season for the Cougars took another turn with injuries to key players. Sydney Thomas has fought through minor injuries herself all season and with both teams heading to Sandra Meadows later this month, they appear to be at opposite ends of the spectrum, or do they?

Monday night @ Bellaire!

No real surprises over weekend, well not really

Duncanville jumped out Mansfield Timberview Friday night and never looked back. Even though Timberview was only down by 10 at the half, the Pantherettes stretched the lead in the second half and won 58-36. Even more impressive than the 22 point victory is the fact that Duncanville's "Big Three" Tasia Foman  (15) Ariel Atkins (14) and Kiara Perry (12) outscored Timberview who were led by Terriell Bradley with 14.

Round one goes to Duncanville and these two team will meet again next January 18th and possibly in the playoffs

The game I covered, Kingwood @ Westfield, turned out to be a pretty good ball game as Kingwood hung close and came away with the victory late in the game. Kingwood has several talented players and the nucleus of  the team is young and one of those young ladies, 2015 Brooke Jolivet, led them in scoring with 12 points followed by Lauren Olivarez and Taylor Shepeard with 11 each

Lauren Rhodes came alive for the Mustangs and did what I've watched her do time and time again and that's drop missiles from all over, in fact she dropped one from close to the timeline that would have tied the game however the officials ruled a whistle had been called prior. Rhodes dropped 12 to go along with 11 for Destiny Barrett for Westfield who were led by Kylah Jones (13)

Dani Fielder and Ikpeaku Iwobi scored 12 each and Cy Creek surprised Seven Lakes 43-40. This was my alternate game which really boiled down to if I wanted seafood however the logistics overruled. Christen Inman led Lakes with 16 points

Remember you can always check the Chronicle for scores and schedules. Not saying it's going to be right all the time however like horseshoes.........

Friday night wrap-up coming

Laura Vote

Some exciting games including a mini-upset not to mention Duncanville handling Timberview with ease. I was on hand for the Kingwood @ Westfield match-up and it was a blast from the past as I saw former Kingwood star Laura Vote now coaching for her old school.

Kingwood was one of the teams back in the day and Vote was one of their "playas" as they defeated a whole lot of teams many didn't think they would while in the process of making numerous to get out of here
