Tip Sheet Chrarli legend starts now for Barbers Hill #CyFairClassic

Charli Collier already has decided on where she'll attend college and as I keep hashtagging she's #HookEm ready right now, that might sound like I'm putting a lot of pressure on a kid who has yet to play her first official high school game. The 2018 phenom can handle the pressure, you better worry about the pressure she's going to apply because as dominant as she is in the paint, her desire to face the basket and score continues to make folks second guess her abilities and did I mention that crossover was becoming a work of art, well yes I did, numerous times

Using the line from Star Kist, there won't be any "Sorry Charli" because providing they stay healthy, this team can make a run and it would be fitting to see Kimberly Carter end her career like she began, at the state tournament championship. Carter is a gifted guard that has shown she can definitely play somewhere after high school and when you throw in Leah Silva who might be one of the most underrated guards in the state, solid Abbey Houghton and "Bombs Away Ballinger" (Taylor) wellthat's a pretty good group but the missing link could be Jakilla Phillips who being tons of energy, more athleticism and can simply make things happen

"The Taz" ready to blast #CyFairFallClassic

I adjusted my list of top teams after watching Atascocita play and to be honest, I really haven't put a lot of thought into it because as I've said several times ranking the top teams is similar to ranking players and after the best of the best are listed, there isn't really a whole lot of difference. Atascocita probably should have been in there however I had to see how well the twin towers of Anacia Wilkerson and Hannah Hopkins were rolling after both battled with nagging injuries over the summer and it appears all systems are go

The system would go anyway with Shae Moore and Aimee Brown, two very gifted guards who can bring the heat on both ends and score various ways but with the twin towers, that just makes things easier. The Taz has a great supporting cast that can bring the heat when needed and a couple of sophomore towers, 6'1 twins Diamond and Jada Johnson, continue to show improvement on the offensive end but as far as the physical aspect of bangin in the paint, they've become quite serviceable

Clear Springs turns up the heat #CyFairClassic

I recall going off on a parent that made a comment to me "I know you're going watch Clear Springs in Austin because they're your favorite team" a couple of seasons ago and I responded "well that's a stupid statement since I've been going the past decade" but I'm used to people saying stupid things and generally I just smh but to be honest with you, I just love watching intensity and action and like I said about this years North Shore squad, when you have teams that can bring heat, you better be able to handle it and the Chargers definitely can put some pressure on anyone

Tasharian Robinson continues to elevate among the top guards in Texas, that first step was already a blur but watching her develop not only the crossover but her midrange game has been something to see. She's already one of the top DEFENSIVE players in the state and with her and Sierra Cheetam, whose long ball game evolved over the summer, as well as Janay Redic, that's three solid 2017's to keep the momentum going and when you add a much improved Adriana Brown to the fold as well as numerous other players, there might be a three way race for first in their district

Westside's Adams Family shorthanded at #CyFairFallClassic

When I saw '15 Alexis Adams last season at the Greater Houston Invitational I was wondering where she had been hiding because at 6'1 and filled with athleticism, there was no way I shouldn't have been seeing her somewhere but again this is Texas, #talentiseverywhere and stranger things have happened over the years. Westside should win their first outright district title since my daughter graduated  back in 2007 based on what I've caught so far and Adams was simply dominant defensively at the Cy Fair Classic as she, Janae Smith and Helen VanBeck were among this seasons contributors playing at the Cy Fair event while others were in the other event, plus Maddisen Turner was taking official visits

Had enough yet?

Always remember when I cover an event, I COVER an event so be patient more is coming as I reject complaints

Manvel capable of making another run #CyFairClassic

I guess this would apply to a number of things but success simply pops into my head and after knocking at the door, then beating on the door, well Manvel kicked that, uhhh, door in last season and even though they lost a talented group of players which include MDAA Brianna Turner (Notre Dame) and Rangie Bessard (Minnesota) they still have MDAA lock Jordan Hosey and a host of other players ready to show they can get this done

Hosey is a beast, a warrior and someone that can explode for 20/20 at the blink of an eye but please don't close your eyes on the others. Arianna Sanders has continued to develop her game and she sees everything, including me tripping in the bleachers last season, I assured her I was okay and said I had just left happy hour but her hours are being super happy as the offense has caught up with the defense. Lauren Taylor was huge on Sunday, she simply was jumping out of the gym and when she and Ameya Jackson get hot from the outside, that opens up everything else, When you add that together, along with the continued improvement from Ally Caudill on both ends, well you just never know

Ogwumike ready to lead #CyFairFallClassic

#AutoAwesoe is so cool it has Erica Ogwumike switching jerseys from Cy Woods to Cy Ranch, man that technology is something else but so is EO. Here's the deal, I've been watching this kid run around in gyms since she was 5 or 6 and I just knew big things were in store and she has a shot, wait, a very good shot at doing something her older sisters Nneka and Chiney did, close out her career in Austin, well San Antonio but at the state championship

North Shore ready for deep run #CyFairFallClassic

One thing about me is I don't mind if people don't agree with me and as far as the best teams always getting out of here, well several things have to fit into place. One thing you can always count on and that's whether I'm evaluating a team or player, I will use some logic on why I'm saying it, not just because I like a teams colors or mascots

With that being said, breakdown #1
