More Good Times from #BigState2014 later today

Jo'Nah Johnson is a Tip Sheet waiting to happen and the fantastic freshman, well she's a sophomore now, showed me how legit she was a couple of years ago and her scoring exhibition at the Texas A&M Camp which included six threes in a row, I'm talking about deep as in from the stands, well almost

TAMU Camp this weekend giving me a treat #GoodTimes

The list of Texas kids that will be in attendance at the Texas  A&M Camp reads like a "Who's Who" list of college stars to be but as an added bonus, I'm going to see some outstanding talent from out of state, including Arkansas and Oklahoma, and one young lady who fits the Oklahoma is OK slogan I used to read on the back of license plated  during summer vacations many years ago is Jo' Nah Johnson

Check out the link below after I saw her live, yeah I used the slogan there as well but anytime I get to see JJ, I know there are going be some Good Times on the court, do you get that? When I call it, someone answers and she has BCS offers, well just click the link

2017 Johnson receives first BCS offer

After watching Jo'nah Johnson's video clip prior to seeing her in person, I was already sold and the Edmund Oklahoma prospect has sold several other colleges already and she's just a freshman. Johnson's dad recently informed me that she received an offer from Texas A&M

Use the search bar readers, type in a name and magically stories I've wrote about players appear, well providing I spell the name correctly and that's a story in itself  read more

Oklahoma Select's right Flava

Make no bones about it, Jo'Nah Johnson is going to be huge and that's saying a lot about a 5'7 guard that hasn't even played her first HS game. The same can be said for several of her teammates as this 2017 team performed extremely well at the Big State Flava. Johnson and Ana Llusna both had admirable performances during the Flava but it doesn't stop with those two bright young stars

Danielle Manning grabs my H&H award as she not only could HANDLE the ball well setting up her teammates, she also was HEADY with the ball making the right decisions and at 5'9, you have a young guard that can score multiple ways, well that's a big plus. Andrea Cooper's body was another big plus as she simply powered her way in the paint making her presence felt

Throw that in with some over the top athleticism from several other players including Bethany Franks, Abby Olsen and Jenay Bojorquez and that recipe for success will have even more Flava in New Orleans next week

From Young Guns to Rising Stars in a day

Carly Jenkins was one of the first players I had a chance to scope out when I arrived in Desoto last Saturday and this 2017 standout showed me she could handle the pressure and get the job done as she went through the drills almost effortlessly. Jenkins wasn't the only standout at the Young Guns Camp, many of those young ladies have the next level in their future while a good number are on the brink.

The good news is that they are all young and when youth on your side, you also have time but always remember so does everyone else and the clock is ticking. Here are the 2017 GPR Rising Stars from the Young Guns Camp

Johnson proves she's another Oklahoma product that's more than OK

I got my first taste of how they played ball in Oklahoma back in 2004. I was in Virginia Beach for the AAU National Championship and watching Earnesia Williams and Danielle Gant from Oklahoma battle Marissa Coleman in the final was truly something special to see.Williams and Coleman were MDAA's, Gant should have been but that's another story

Edmund Oklahoma has produced some great basketball players, I saw a number of them over the past two seasons, in fact Courtney Walker, a freshman at Texas A&M, is putting up numbers left and right

I recall my long trips to Louisiana with my grandparents in the sixties and while they talked in code to keep me from being in the loop, I found other ways to humor myself and one was spotting out of state license plates. The one I enjoyed counting the most were from Oklahoma because it's slogan was "Oklahoma is OK"

I saw a Youtube clip of Jo'Nah Johnson prior to the Young Guns Camp and I wasn't disappointed watching her in person as she will join that long line of next level players from Oklahoma who are more than OK
