Routt continues to elevate game #TXEEVAL

I tweeted I was on the verge of changing the S for Shae Routt to Superwoman because the Supergirl status I gave her a couple of years ago is becoming dated. Routt committed to Texas as an 8th grader and the story could have easily ended there however the young star embraced not only that but chose to continue to work hard on her weaknesses and I was simply amazed at what I was looking at at the TXE Evaluation Camp

She's stronger, faster and more aggressive and her ability to face the basket as well as defend on the perimeter to go along with shooting on the perimeter has me seeing three more ways ways than one at the next level

Travis duo sparkle #TXEEVAL

I heard about Queen Egbo doing some amazing things in her freshman season for Travis however I caught up a couple of Tigers sophomore guards with potential to be royalty as well. Zariah McInnis is explosive, first step is wicked and she showed she could take defenders off the dribble with ease at the TXE Evaluation Camp. Ni'ya Samuels is just coming back from an injury however you wouldn't know it by watching her thread the needle with precision to teammates for baskets. That ans her ability to handle te ball under pressure stood out

Both stars along with Egbo create a nice nucleus for Travis over the next few seasons

Carter close to return as Barbers Hill faces Bush

Kimi Carter has been a starter from the first day

What do I enjoy about Kimi's game, too much for me to say
One thing I know for certain is that she's always ready to play

The unsigned senior has had a remarkable career at Barbers Hill and not only has she constantly worked on whatever individual weaknesses she had, she has always been a team player. Carter has simply been amazing as I've stated many times she's one of the best finishers with either hand in the state and is a legitimate long ball threat. Tonight they battle Bush for a trip to Campbell Center on Friday and are only three games away from returning to the state tournament, something Carter achieved as a freshman

In the video below, Carter scored 19 points and added 14 rebounds in their win against North Shore earlier this season and to top it off, she did it on her birthday

Dekaney gets the Point

It gets a little tougher for Dekaney however the Wildcats have legitimate players throughout their roster including Miss Elevation, Lauren Grigsby, Miss Prototype Point Guard, Jaelyn Richard-Harris and Miss Super Soph Jasmine Smith going against that young lady that can dunk, Jordan  Moore, all 75 inches showing monster skills and her Stony Point teammates

Neither Mavericks nor Mustangs want to be corralled from Campbell

Alyssa Okoene is going to be the X factor the rest of the way for North Shore as they make a run to not only Campbell but hopefully beyond. First up is the defending state champions, Mavel, who won't go down without a fight and should the Mustangs advance, they have to beat the team to beat in Cy Woods, well providing Richards doesn't go off for 50 and she's capable of doing just that. The #sizedontmatter guards know what's up as well as their supporting cast but two things could happen, North Shore could win big or if they're slipping, they could be like me and watching from the stands

Chargers ready for Hurricanes as they eye Campbell Center

Clear Springs and Hightower played against each other in the Peggy Whitley Classic and one thing I can say is that it wasn't a pretty game. Lot's of fouls, missed shots, etc as it ended 35-34 with Hightower pulling it out. Both teams were suffering with injuries and this time around I expect a totally different type game full of energy and more important excitement. I called Hightower a sleeper to make it to Campbell, well Clear Springs has awaken from their nap handling Port Arthur Memorial to get here and this is a game that can go either way. Game is at 6pm at Pearland HS

Wolves on run, Seven Lakes standing between Campbell Center

Tanea Thomas kept Westside close to Cy Fair in the first half, Maddisen Turner changed the momentum in the second half and Sentreal Gregory helped sealed the deal as the Wolves make it to the Elite 8. Other key players were Kirbee Celestine and Janae Smith with Kori Seals and freshman Ny'Asia Goldman (Sachs) is definitely an investment for the future. I called the Wolves a sleeper with a legitimate chance to not only make it but pull off an upset, well they won't get it done like they played Friday night but they just need to get there to regroup. That won't be as easy as it seems because once you get to the E-8, anything is possible and Seven Lakes has the weapons led by Cydney Varner and Michelle Foakum in what should be an interesting game. Cy Woods ready for run as they tangle with Cy Ranch

What we have here is a group of teams that understand when the going get's tough, to advance it gets tougher and with the exception of Cy Woods vs Cy Ranch, each game is probably a toss-up. With that being said, remember I picked Cy Ranch to be the R3 rep, that was before I knew Catherine Reece and Jasmine Williams were at Cy Woods giving them a D1 starting line-up and also before Rachel Tapps, another D1 lock, was out due to an injury for Ranch. Woods has been clicking all season as they hold the #1 ranking in the state but Cy Ranch has elevated their game as a healthy Deauzya Richards doesn't seem to take no way for an answer. This might be the game based on logistics and weather, I think Woods will advance but let's not count the youngsters out. Winner plays Manvel North Shore winner
