Unsigned Tyler Davis shows even more EXCITEMENT

I called Tyler Davis Miss Excitement last season as she helped Cy Woods knock on the door, this season they kicked on the door and she played a huge roll in that but coaches this is a simple fact, she plays on a team with four D1 players so if you're looking at Max Preps or whatever stat-mobile, sometimes doesn't truly don't tell the story and neither do I when I say a player can play

Davis is explosive, I've watched her put up double digit numbers in a little over two minutes in HS and club ball numerous times but she's a consummate "team" player and does whatever it takes to place her team in the best position to win

2020 HGEE makes noise at #DCSportsDFW Girls Got Game

I see some of the same mannerisms in Myra Gordon that I do in her older sister Lexi (no Y) one of the states top freshmen and I know watching older sister has added to this young ladies development but the jump I've seen in Gordon since the Hoop-A-Holics camp tells me things are about to Flash right before my eyes, get it?

Gordon isn't the only one ahead of the game for HGEE, many of these young ladies are but the main thing is that they all understood the game and comprehending this stuff at their ages will go a long way. Sydney McAlister is strong in the paint while Kyla Davis, Alex Copeland and Dasha MacMillan brought heat on both ends of the court. Ryleigh Merrier also showed some upside as she attacked well and even showed she could drop a floater

My attentions were to catch them again on Sunday however I got caught up in action elsewhere but I will have HGEE on the "must see" list even if I'm not 2020, they certainly are

TPE 2018 at #DCSportsDFW Girls Got Game

Texas Preps Elite popped on the scene. at least for me, last season and had an abundance of talented teams and players and Cyleist Smith and Tatum Henderson are only a couple of many who showed me a thing or two. to be honest, I've had the pleasure of watching these young ladies, both can handle the ball and see the floor, Smith get to the rim whenever she wants while Henderson can shoot mid to long range effectively. Robbie Johnson does a good job of breaking defenders down, she also knows and understand the game, Payton O'Brian does as well and has great court vision like the duo

Sophie Hannabas rebounds well on both ends and go strong to the basket, with either hand while Whitney Yates showed she was a force to be reckoned with in the paint as well. Ladies and gentlemen, 6'4 Uchenna Nwoke was simply creating a lot of buzz on Saturday so I had to make sure I caught TPE on Sunday just cause I'm nosy.I figured she'd be raw but I wasn't pleasantly surprised because she's coordinated and athletic and has a good comprehension about what she needs to do, I'm told this is her first year playing and if this is her first year, she's definitely going to be a name you college coached better "ink" in

I'm sure I'll catch this talented young team down the road, several players are definitely going to be stars in HS along with playing at the next level

Those you ladies from Monroe, Louisiana impressed me so much on my last visit to the Metroplex to cover Prime Time and it seems like every time I get to cover one of their events, someone new simply breaks out. This weekend will be no exception as I head back to see other talented players that may be unknown or simply progression from those I know about

Girls Got Game shows star power #DCSportsDFW

I love watching entertaining basketball, especially when sleep deprivation starts to take it's toll and it's always icing on the cake when it's smart and entertaining. Girls Got Game hosted by DC Queens added a few lit candles on top with players I'm already seeing show star power and BCS potential that haven't played in their first high school games yet. Kayla Glover and Myra Gordon were captured in this #AutoAwesome photo, I caught Gordon at the Hoop-A-Holics Camp back in December and one thing I always talk about when I evaluate is that I look for progression, she has simply taken her game to another level

No roster for the Swag but they had several players that simply got after on both their high school and middle school teams and if #AutoAwesome captures your photo, that tells you something right there. Over the next few days I'll bring you some stories on some very talented players that have a shot at playing somewhere once their high school careers are over. These #AutoAwesome photos are only giving you a glimpse of the future on what I'll be writing about and the one below didn't capture the whole DC Queens 2020 team that played two years up and made an impressive, well more than impressive showing, but trust me, they all can play. When I put the glasses on I'm really serious, okay I can't read the small print but I wanted to share something with you. I talked about a parent going to a large tournament and receiving a letter from a recruiting service on how well their daughter played and how they could help, well the player can play, problem is she wasn't in attendance at the event, so they misrepresented themselves in the letter, aka, told a %$&* lie

Yesterday I received a call from another parent who said he was contacted by someone from out of state using that "used car salesman" approach and when the dad asked how were they so sure his daughter could play at the next level without seeing her, their response was "you don't have confidence in your daughter?"

This blew me away that someone would have the audacity to try and pull something like that however game is game, whether it's on Wall Street or just the street, believe me I know both. More importantly, I know talent and "yes I charge" to market players and I've been successful helping give players options however if I don't feel I can help, I'm upfront and honest

Even more importantly, I watch the kids throughout their careers, I just did a Tip Sheet on the Under The Radar players playing in the Heart Of Texas and I bombard colleges with updates and those college coach who know me know there are know sleight of hand tricks, I simply keep it real

Top 2018's go off at #BOO

I get irritated sometimes when people ask me if I know who such and such is, especially when they tell me "I read your stuff all the time" "you're doing a great job" and any other thing that people say just to be nice, well don't worry about being nice, I'm here to put out information on players that I feel can play at the next level at various levels, so my sarcastic remarks usually throw a comeback like evidently you don't or you didn't use the search bar on either blog or website, well providing I spelled their names right

One thing I'm sure about is I've been spelling Charli Collier and Zarielle Green's correctly since they were in the 6th grade I guess but even more importantly, I had their games right. Collier was simply dominant for Cy Fair Walker while Green simply went off for DFW T-Jack, finishing as one of the top scorers in the whole event, both from reliable sources, which is what I am, a reliable source. I sent out a cheat sheet to every college in the country with a WBB program, got several email kickbacks so if you didn't get it, somethings wrong on one or both of our ends

Providing I know everywhere the Top 25 player in each class will be playing in July, from 2015-2018 and these are my Top 25's from 2015-18, I'm sending out again. If you had a chance to get the sheet, I know the ones listed were impressive but there are many others you kn ow need to know about

Spoon's "Under The Spotlight" coming soon

Krissica “Spoon” Harper is a native of Waco, Texas. Krissica, a 5’0 point guard, helped lead Waco Midway’s 2009 4A Girl’s State Basketball Championship. She played in 144 consecutive games as a four-year letter winner and three year starter for Midway. As a result, Ms. Harper was a intricate piece in helping Waco Midway’s Lady Panthers achieve a record of 121wins and only 23 losses. 

Ms. Harper’s achievements include being selected first team all District 16-4A three times, being named to the Waco Tribune-Herald Super Centex first team three consecutive years, and was the Central Texas assist leader her junior and senior years. In addition, she was also selected to play in the 2009 Texas Girls Coaching Association (TGCA) all-star basketball game. 

Upon graduating high school, she signed a Division 1 basketball scholarship and later graduated from Henderson State University with a degree in Political Science/Pre-law with a minor in communication.  She is currently working with at-risk teens and using her gift of basketball to coach, develop, and mentor basketball players. 

“Spoon” will be giving Girlz Prep Report even more insight on the Cen-Tex area and will be on hand for the Tyrone Johnson Classic in  June

Myra and Lexi Gordon

Last week I had a chance to catch one of the top freshman prospects in the state, Lexi Gordon from LD Bell at the Heart of Texas playing on a very young and exciting Texas Adidas Elite-Franey squad. That team was one that stayed on my "must see" list last season because of the numerous prospects that WILL play at the next level, well nothing has changed

This weekend, I get to see Myra live and in living color going for HGEE. Myra helped show me at the Hoop-A-Holics Camp back in December that I don't need glasses to know that 2020 is going to be very special

It looks like I'll be busy again looking at talented young players, this is what I do and nothing pleases me more than watching players compete and progress
