2022 #Next100 THE BABIES 2029/2030

Geralynn Byers-Veal

I remember the first event I covered for Pass Tha Ball almost a decade ago, HoopAHolics, and it was a smash as far as what was coming, and guess what, they’re still coming and I’m on the verge of dropping #D1Lock on the 3 youngest players that attended the #Next100 in Buda, outside of Austin and here’s why

Mireily Rivera

2029

Mireily Rivera-5’0 PG  (SA Hoops Elite) handles the ball under pressure and can create her shot yet she already understands how to create contact and finish after the lick but watching her drop the long-range just did it for me

Geralynn Byers-Veal-5'6 PG (Texas Elite) multiple ways to put the ball in the basket already, that’s scary and showing me the step-back and the fadeaway had me get up to see her number on her back yet she scores after contact off the dribble and drops the mid to long-range

The GREAT Andrea Riley instructing Maleah Mason

2030

Maleah Mason-5’0 PG (Cy Fair Elite) when you’re this young and I don’t take notes physically only mentally should tell you something because I know what’s coming, she battles against older players constantly and her mid to long-range, scoring off the dribble are already there yet so is her court-vision

55 Buckets #RunTheWorld

I definitely got a kick out of this squad because I love their fight, their desire, and the way that they battled because they are in the classes of 2030 and 2031and we were playing up so let me say this, it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against so yeah, I was impressed, scores are irrelevant to me so keep working, I see what’s coming and watching these younger players take me back to watching my daughters, baby girl is pictured next to Obama on here, won a National Championship at Texas A&M and played many seasons in the WNBA so when I say something, trust me, I know what I’m talking about

2030

Mia Sharp- sees the floor, scores off the dribble

Alexa Mackenzie- handles the ball well, loved the “catch and shoot” off the glass at that, and scores after contact

Gray Spann- handles the ball well, understands how to attack the basket

Kinlee McDonald -creates her shot well and gets it off

Hannah Hamilton- handles the ball under pressure, good upside

Molly Carreon- size don’t matter when you can play and she gets after it defensively

Kinley Vandevender- on the ball defense is solid and at this stage, huge

2031

Chandler Bernard- size don’t matter when you can play, she understands how to trap the ball already, good defender

Scarlett Mooty- heady guard that plays within herself, good upside

Honorable Mention

Bayler Jeter (2030)

Harper Lee (2031)

Process Elite #RunTheWorld

The Process Elite has some players that are already showing me next-level potential in a big way, here’s the squad, most are long and athletic which means a lot and if you follow me and comprehend what I say, well you’ll get it

2028

Bailey Thomas-it would be easier to write what she can’t do at this stage but her upside is scary, she’s long and athletic, scores off the dribble with an explosive first step, defends and plays the passing lane

Jada Frazier- also does a good job playing the passing lane, that’s very important but so is her defense. On the ball

2029

Lariyah Kingcade-nice size, long and athletic with very good upside to go with her timing and she rebounds

Isis Sanford-nice hands to come up with steals, she also sees the floor and has a very nice first step, oh and she’s long and athletic

Philyia Jones-another long and athletic player finishes and plays the passing lane

Khylei Jordan- long and athletic, finishes well

Sarianna Washington- athletic guard that scores off the dribble, defends, and plays the passing lane

Jada Frazier- rebounds on both ends, plays the passing lane, has good upside

Bailey Shelton- rebounds and can go coast to coast with the ball afterward, also plays the passing lane

Honorable Mention

Kate Clark

2029 Lightning Elite #RunTheWorld

Lightning Elite is filled with talent and athleticism so I definitely got a boost knowing what’s coming on this 2029 squad

Levi Johnson- scores off the dribble, rebounds, creates her shot, drops the midrange, and understands how to take the defender going baseline

Hailey Humphrey- scores off the dribble, nice defender, and good upside

Gabrielle Gibson- plays the passing lane, scores off the dribble with the HEZ or STUTTA, and knocks down free throws

Jasvi Dachepalli-scores off the dribble, understands something very important already, how to create contact

Camille Batac- scores off the dribble, handles the ball under pressure, and sees the floor

Ze Johnson- scores off the dribble understands how to trap and switch, solid defender

Addison Brown-long and athletic, that’s the base, plays the passing lane and scores off the dribble

LHS at #RunTheWorld

LHS caught my eye a few months ago, with plenty of talented players with upside and although I missed Dereona Doss (2030) and Armani Reed (2031) however I’ll definitely be on the lookout

2029

Crystal Urine-long and athletic, good defender and understands how to get hers in the flow offensively

2030

Kyndal Lyn-handles the ball with ease under pressure, good court vision, creates her shot for the pull-up, and plays the passing lane

Izabella Weathersby-strong rebounder and finisher understands the importance of going after the ball

Jaylee Davis- handles the ball well under pressure, understands how to set the defender up, even split two defenders

Camryn Dickey- athletic guard that doesn’t mind applying heat on the defensive end, on the ball

2031

Kyleigh Williamson-zig-zags through traffic with her dazzling ballhandling and can take the defender with either hand off the dribble

Aaliyah Harkless-long and athletic plays the passing lane and rebounds plus she has good timing

Sydney Colson has big week in AU Hoops

Sydney Colson has done some remarkable things in not only her basketball career but in life and her compassion for others has always been one of things I'm mostly proud of because she's not like me, I hold grudges, wait I made it about me, but she has had a huge week in the new league, AU Hoops under Athletes Unlimited @AUProSports and here's the game winner from halfcourt
and here's another video where she went completely off, team came back from over 20 to win

A1 Sauce 2026 #RunTheWorld

A1 Suace definitely has some players on the rise, Ivana Chilbeth and Jordyn Cole made the PGH Texas article but let me also give a special thanks to Rozlyn Geason for giving these young ladies an opportunity to get some exposure and not just play games because let me say this, my daughter, pictured with Oboma, had over 100 D1 offers, the first in the 6th grade so I kind of know what I'm talking about so here ya go
Sahar Massud-heady guard that plays within herself and has good court vision. She also did a good job taking the defender off the dribble Christine Cua-also a heady guard that handles the ball nicely under pressure and makes solid passes on the money but she also defends"on the ball" and showed the floater Alaina Ngo-comprehends the game and understands how to get hers in the flow, also scored off the dribble Nariah Weatherspoon-long and athletic, good upside, revounds on both ends of the floor and scores from the wing Honorable Mention Gabriella Bennett Kayla Twitty

Team Takeover 2026 #RunTheWorld

Jadyn Middleton and Jade Williams made the PGH Texas article I did on Run The World, why are they there, because they are showing early WATCH LIST potential when I drop the 2026 so I was happy to see players I probably wouldn't get to see since eeverything is so spread out so it's important to place yourself in front of some that actually knows, been out here 20 years, daughter had 100 D1 offers, that's her pictured with Oboma so I'm not a pretender here are some of the other talented players Riley Brown- runs the floor, rebounds on both ends and defends. Nice inside moves, good hands and footwork, goood upside Yardin Evans-long and athletic, plays "on the ball" defense and can attack the basket Brynlee Brown- creates her shout well, knocked down the jumper, even off the glass. Good athleticism and timing to block shots Tori Willaims- rebounds on both ends, also created her shot and defends well, nice upside Tiyana Alexander- attacks basket strong, finsihes strong, long and athletic with UPS and drops the midrange and rebounds Honorable Mention Arianna Taylor Caroline Banerjea

Texas U 2026 National #RunTheWorld

It was great seeing even more new faces, as well as some older ones. I hadn't seen Texas U director Rich Anderson in a minute, we go back a few years and I was happy he brought his team to Run The World so I could grab a glimpse of the future and to say my eyes were wide open would be a understatement. Three of his players, Kyndall Graham, Ariamma Johnson and Jazzlyn Powell made Top Performers on PGH Texas, Johnson and Powell were tagged #D1Lock by me, I ain't been wrong yet and although I didn't drop on Graham, she is on the verge and if you don't think it's possible, Google Porsche Landry (Houston) and D'Franz Smart Rice but here are the other talented players Samari Stevenson-long and athletic with a very nice first step to get to the basket. She finishes strong, this oncludes on putbacks, yes she rebounds on both ends and she plays the passing lane well Kayden Sherman-strong body and understands how to use it around the basket. She finsihes with power, this includes after contact and with players literally hanging on her plus she does a good job rebounding on both ends of the court Addison Thomas-finished strong, from a variety of angles and did it after the lick but she also plkayed solid defense, rebounded and has pretty good timing to block shots, very good upside

Rankings, Exposure, Etc this is from 2010 yet here we are

I used to keep up with how many girls from the area received scholarships to play basketball. The Chronicle ran a story during the Final Four that over the past years the average was around 16 however my records are bit more accurate. The Class of 2005 produced around 50 kids and 2007's group was up in the forties. In fact since 2005, over 60 young ladies that played for our club program got a chance do their thing at the next level. 2006 was the lowest year for scholarships, somewhere around the low twenties and it appears the Class of 2010 will fall in low thirties. Expect the Class of 2012 next level players to mirror the one from 2005. There are a lot of solid ballplayers that can play at the next level and by next level, I'm including not only D1, but D2, D3, NAIA and JUCO. The reason I am writing about this is July is right around the corner and parents need to be aware of certain things. Two articles by Clay Kallam sum it up in a nutshell. The first talks about exposure and if your kid does well, that's a good thing, however if she doesn't, she will be exposed. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/basketball/womens/columns/story?columnist=kallam_clay&id=3339615 The second is for unrealistic parents who can't seem to see their kids faults, don't seem to be able to compare the skill level of their child to other kids their age that play the same position, so forth and so on. Ironically , what I have seen is some people can see what another kid is doing wrong and not what their own daughters weaknesses are. This truly amazes me. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/basketball/womens/columns/story?columnist=kallam_clay&id=3350884 The third is really to help those hung up their kids rankings when the odds on getting a scholarship is less that 4%. http://www.collegesportsscholarships.com/percentage-high-school-athletes-ncaa-college.htm Let me go back to the Hoopgurlz.com Class of 2007 http://hoopgurlz.com/players/all/2007 This was a solid class all the way around nationwide. Maya Moore is still #1 and the very first time I saw the kid, I knew she was special. She had S.A.C.S., an acronym I made up on the fly, and this separated her from everyone else. 1.Size-College coaches love big guards with strong bodies, it's rough at the next level and having a kid like this come on board can end 30 year friendships, plus jump start you to consecutive National Championships. 2.Athleticism-Moore could play the 1,2 or 3 and excel at either position for her club team, Georgia Metros. Everything she did was fluid and graceful, a thing of beauty to watch. 3.Confidence-She knew she was the girl, no matter what and kept her cool on the court. She wouldn't get flustered by constant face checking, elbowing, tripping, name calling, etc. Moore made you pay on the court, with or without scoring and sometimes you never saw it coming, just like a silent assassin. 4.Skills-Go back to #2 and add post up moves, mid range shooting and solid ball handling under pressure. Since then she has added the long ball to her arsenal which shows no matter how great you are, you should keep working on your weaknesses. Tashia Phillips was ranked #1 in the initial rankings by USA Today, I believe back in 2004 or 2005 and our own Stephanie Gilbreath, Cinco Ranch, was ranked #2. Phillips wound up at Xavier teaming up with club ball teammate Amber Harris, both kids played for The Family. Xavier should have gone to the Final Four this season, however two wide open layups were missed along with Stanford driving coast to coast for a buzzer beating layup ended their magical season. Gilbreath was all everything on a National scale and turned the Cinco Ranch program completely around after coming back from an ACL injury in the 8Th grade. The sad part is she hasn't played one game for the college she chose, USC, since graduating high school due to back to back to back knee injuries. Her dad, Wardell, and I go back over 30 years. We played against each other in various leagues in the late seventies and early eighties when Sim was slim. I truly sympathize with him because I know how an injury can change or even end a career. On a happier note his younger daughter, Brianna, is excelling under Michael Cooper at USC. Several of the kids listed in Hoopgurlz.com Class of 2007 Top 100 have enjoyed success at the next level, but as I always tell parents, the bottom line is this. Getting a free education is a blessing, not where your child was ranked. Hopefully this helps.
