#AutoAwesome Friday at Space City Jam

I had a chance to catch some talented players across the board in many division at the Space City Jam from the 10U SATCH and CHSA squads all the way up to the 18U New Way and SATCH squads and that will be your 5:20 championship game later today

I'm heading back out for more excitement, follow me on Twitter or my UNHACKED Instagram for more excitement but wait, you've got not only a Tip Sheet coming but mini stories on the championship squads as well because NO ONE covers an event like I do

BRACKETS

Cy Fair rolls on big night for head coach

So many times people glance at close scores and come away thinking that it was a good game however Cy Fair's 13 point victory over Langham Creek , 69-56 doesn't appear to be close but at times it certainly was, well until Kyler Wyatt and Angela Harris did some magical things to open it up late in the second half. I guess the back to back one woman press breaks Wyatt created which lead to scores, an assist and an and one had something to do with it, or maybe Harris catching fire and scoring on three straight possessions, two of them threes and an acrobatic and one herself had something to do with it but to be honest with you, this was probably the best team effort win I've seen from the Bobcats all season. Leslie Lockridge was solid at the one while Olivia Noah filled up the stat sheet

This was going to be a tough game for Langham Creek anyway, the gym was packed as Cy Fair's head coach Ann Robique was honored for winning her 600th game last week and they talked about her district titles and state championships however  what had impressed me even before she had the talented Ogumike sisters is that she was making it to the regional semis with a variety of talented players. Nevertheless, the Lobo's fought and I talk about the poise of the freshmen duo of Briley Perkins and Dyanni Robinson so much that if you had a chance to watch them last night, in this type of environment, you'd definitely get it. Dezi White and Courtney Faver also helped spread out the offense but the bottom line is that they're tied for that final playoff spot with Cy Fair who travel to Cy Falls on Tuesday while the Lobos take a trip to undefeated Cy Woods

Wolves vs Cardinals round 2

Westside hadn't won district outright since 2007, how do I remember, that's the year my daughter graduated from there however they pulled it off last season and made a run to the regional finals, a feat they've accomplished three times, but they lost to eventual state champions Cy Woods in that final game

This season, they find themselves a game behind the Cardinals led by Texas A&M Corpus Christi signee Dae Dae Evams along with Keejah Dibrell and 6'3 junior Mya Hollingshed and I mentioned during the Texas Jamboree if Irenisha Johnson had been allowed to play, they would have definitely made a run and whatever happened in that situation goes into "all that's wrong category" because she definitely deserves to play

The Wolves will counter with their on "Big Three" of Kirby Celestine, Sentreal Gregory and Tanea Thomas, they lost the first time around by 9 so this should be another one of those HISD thrillers between the top two teams in the district

Lobos at Bobcats for a playoff spot in D-17

Langham Creek's Dezi White has been DYNOMITE since coming back from a minor injury and the explosive sophomore happens to be one of the nest in Texas 2018 class, you have trust me on this one and while trusting me, their dynamic freshmen duo of Briley Perkins and Dyani Robinson have made the adjustment as varsity starters with ease, which is great news for the Lobos and that along with the return of Kayla Ownes, one of the top 2017 players in the country, you have to throw their name in the hat for a trip to San Antonio next season

Whoa, lets rewind to now where they're 7-2 in district and tied for 2nd place with Cy Falls, a team that gave them one of their district losses, the other was Cy Ranch who are on the outside looking in for that final playoff spot right now. The Lobos go against Cy Fair who happen to be one of the hottest teams in the city Friday night, the Bobcats are only a game behind and since has Cy Woods, Cy Falls and Cy Springs remaining, this is a very important game for them

Cy Fair has Cy Falls, they beat them on an Angela Harris three at the buzzer last week, okay almost at the buzzer, along with Cy Springs and Cy Creek while Cy Ranch has Cy Lakes, Cy Ridge, Cy Creek and Jersey Village, they haven't played Creek yet but won the other games with ease, so there you have it, Woods and Falls are definite locks while Langham Creek, Cy Fair and Cy Ranch all have keys yet only two of those will fit

'21 Andrews showing Peyton's place will have many options

I love big guards that can shoot but more importantly so do college coaches and when I first saw Peyton Andrews up close and personal at the Battle At The Hive last season and was overly impressed with her skill set as well as her basketball knowledge at a young age, you can't teach thinking on the court folks

Fast forward to this seasons HoopAHolics where the 7th grader has a grown a little in size as well as expanded her game even more, well expanded her range as well as the 5'10 guard is dropping some NBA range bombs in this video, more coming and I think the song blasting in the background fits because I'm certainly not forgetting about her

Great Scott Klein Oaks in battle for 2nd against Collins

Klein Oak battles Klein Collins tonight in a fight for 2nd place tonight, Dekaney sewed up the district title before the season started however the impressive thing about Oak's 7-2 record in district is that it's as many wins as they've had in district as the previous three seasons combine, in fact they haven't had a winning district record since the 2011-12 season

The turnaround or X factor since Scully and Mulder have returned is none other than Elizabeth "Liz" Scott, one of the top freshmen in the country, just like I told you she'd be back in the 6th grade when I tagged her "Great Scott" so this should be a great game between the teams, Oaks won the first one on the road by three. Collins features New Orleans signee, Rexesha Hollis one of the areas top players

STANDINGS

Woods at Ranch could be .........

When I put a lot of dots, well periods, I'm letting you know there's a good chance that TWO teams from D-17 could make it to Campbell Center in the regional semis, PERIOD with an exclamation point afterwards

Cy Woods has all but clinched their district, a win tonight definitely would do that but another note, they would be on a collision course to meet North Shore in the semifinals in late February while the 2nd and 3rd place teams will be on the opposite side

SCHEDULE

This could be interesting, the Wildcats have lost twice to the Mustangs this season and that old saying it's hard to beat a team three times is just that, an old saying because some teams have gotten beat by other teams 300 times but if it comes down to that, it should be what I call "a good game"

PLAYOFFS

SATCH @ Episcopal before #SpaceCityJam

Madison and Mikayla Schenck may be holding a piece of ice but trust me, it didn't long for it to melt because the talented sisters have been on fire all season. Madison recently committed to St Edwards and Mikayla, one of the states top sophomores will be representing defending Space City Jam champions SATCH this weekend but today, they go against a high powered offensive Episcopal squad featuring Houston signee Quatera Limbrick as well as another of the states top sophs, Kansas Watts

Game is at 5:30 today and here's a link to SPACE CITY JAM which starts THURSDAY !!!!!

New Way dropping in on #SpaceCityJam

New Way has been an explosive squad to look at over the years and they're returning to the Space City Jam with heavy hitters. Roeshanda Patterson can simply put up numbers in droves, quickly and the talented UTEP signee isn't alone as NIa Smith and Cherlee Collins have already given me thrills over the years

Here's a link to the brackets

Sidney has Wildcats on attack for deep run

The Wheatley Wildcats name was synonymous for great boy's basketball teams when I was coming and the trend continued into this century however the girl's have produced some talented players and teams and this years squad might have not only their best ever player but a team capable of making a deep run

They're definitely one of the top 4A teams in the area, TABC has them in the state's top 25 and most of this is because of Eryka Sidney, the Prairie View signee that's averaging over 31 ppg along with a tad over 7 assists and steals a game. I know I always say "It's not what you do, it's who you do it against" but I've seen this young lady do it on the circuit, trust me she's legit

How legit is she? Well the talented the senior had several offers on the table including some mid majors however being close to her family paid a huge role in her decision to stay near home which means I'll be in for a treat over the next four seasons as well.

Big Three propel Cy Woods over Cy Falls

This is a pretty cool picture because it captures five of the six leading scorers from last night's game including Cy Woods' "Big Three" of Nancy Mulkey (18) along with Jasmine Williams and Catherine Reese who scored 16 each. The first quarter was a tight one, the Wildcats were up 18-16 after one and appeared to be on the verge of opening the game up as the expanded the lead to 14 leading 39-25 at the half but one thing I know about the Eagles is they have multiple scorers on this squad and they would make a run

They closed the gap after three to get the deficit back under 10 however Woods made some adjustments and held on win 66-55. This all but assures the Wildcats of the district title as they lead by two games with five remaining however in this district, never say never. JoAnne Taylor lead the Eagles scorers with 17, followed by Daija Craft and Deja Cormer with 12  and 10 respectively

BOX

Also Cy Fair gets a huge win against Cy Ranch, pulling the Bobcats into a tie with the Mustangs for that final spot, Max Preps is wrong on this one, Fair has lost 3 district games

Cy Woods heads to Cy Falls as D-17 title up for grabs

Cy Woods sits alone on top of the toughest district in the region and they could all but clinch the district title with a win against Cy Falls on Friday. Hold on wait a minute, they have to travel to the Golden Eagles turf to do it so it's not etched in stone just yet

Cy Fair is trying to stay in contention, they head to a healthy and revitalized Cy Ranch where the Mustangs have been off and running

Jersey Village still has an outside chance of making the playoffs, they've dropped some close ones in district but so has Langham Creek who has one of the top records in district play so that game, at the Lobis, will be important as well

The only question that I have is will District 17 have two representatives in the regional semi's, I don't know but it's definitely a possibility

Bush vs Elkins highlights 5A battle at Wheeler

Bush looked pretty impressive back in November at the FBISD Tournament finishing 4th in the event with a key match-up against defending R-3 5A champ Rudder that showed they are in the hunt for that road trip to San Antonio however Friday at 5:30, the district leader battles Elkins who are only a game out

Elkins has some heavy hitters including Monet Jones, Mackenziie Johnson and Ashley Daniel while Bush has some heavyweights of their own like sharpshooter Daizhaa Norris, Tamera Gulley and Emily Caster to name a few

Game is at Wheeler, boy's game will follow

Super Starks helps keep Consolidated within striking distance

Last season, when everything was on the line, I watch Aerial "AJ" Starks do everything I knew she was capable of doing when I saw her as a freshman and even though I don't think she realized at the time all the tools she possessed, her 30 points in the Regional Finals against district rival Rudder in a 63-60 loss. she showed me she understood

Right now her A&M Consolidated team is a game behind district leader Rudder, a 57-54 loss in game one is their only blemish in district, however Starks has definitely been on fire, and I'm talking all season read more

Recently she recorded her 4th double-double of the season, scoring 29 points and adding 10 rebounds against Huntsviille and who knows, it could be a Campbell Center match-up again to see who heads to San Antonio

Harris three for win tightens up D-17 race even more

If there's one thing I've always been certain about regarding Angela Harris game is that she won't run from the pressure and I saw that in the sixth grade when I said she would be a D1 player. Well the U of  H signee hit one of the biggest shots of her career giving Cy Fair a 67-66 win over Cy Falls, who were tied for first with Cy Woods but now drop a game behind the Wildcats

BOX

This was a very important game, more so for the Bobcats who are only one game behind in the loss column for the final playoff spot, Max Preps has them two behind but I'm probably right, with six games remaining. Cy Ranch, now fully healthy, defeated Jersey Village who fall three games behind for the last spot

STANDINGS

Lobos stay in playoff hunt with win over Cy Lakes

Saw a little bit of everything in this one and after Cy Lakes led Langham Creek 17-16 after one with Lakes guards Kendra Houston dropping 2 threes and Sierra Fuller another, however the Lobos simply went off in the second quarter and appeared to have this one under control leading by 7 at the half  31-24 holding Lakes to 7 points and closing the quarter with a Dezi White put-back

BOX

Cy Lakes wasn't done and they put together a comeback of their own, down 43-41 however Houston was simply unconscious from long range and her sixth three gave Lakes the lead to open the fourth quarter but Lakes with only score one more field goal the rest of the way as Langham Creek has a two game lead  for that final playoff spot

DISTRICT RACE

Langham Creek continues to do a lot of growing up and considering they start a pair of freshmen, Briley Perkins and Dyani Robinon to go along with sophomore White, one would have to wonder just how good this team will be next season with Kayla Owens back in the picture. White put her squad on her back in the final quarter, Robinson hit one of the biggest shots of her career to simply change the momentum while Perkins to play with extreme poise at the one, that's where the game starts so these last games will be tough but they've shown the won't back down

The Woodlands host Summer Creek in huge game

Watching Peyton Walker and Meghan Musso progress over the years has definitely been a joy to see and it's hard to believe that they're seniors now. That dynamic duo along with long ball extraordinaire Julia Glandt average over 30 points between them and account for the vast majority of the Highlanders' points. Right now, if the playoffs started today, they'd be on the outside looking in  since they're tied for the fourth playoff spot with Kingwood but lost their first game

This can get very interesting as they host Summer Creek who are a game ahead of both The Woodlands and Kingwood. SC has one of the top point guards in the Texas 2018 class Demaya Telemaque and one of the top freshman in the area Halle Jones as well as super scorer Alaina Spencer. This should be a very entertaining game

Big games on January 19 schedule for #2016 run

Cy Springs and Jersey Village still have an outside shot at making the playoffs so their games on tomorrow are definitely important. JV hosts Cy Ranch, one more time, the team I predicted to get out of here, well I picked them and North Shore and the Mustangs are healthy and rolling. Cy Springs battles a scrappy Cy Creek team on the road. Langham Creek battles Cy Lakes at the Berry Center, did someone say double-header for me or is it "My Mind Playing Tricks On Me", nope here they come just like I figured

DISTRICT 17

That game is a must simply because both are also in striking distance of the playoffs while Cy Falls, tied with Cy Woods for the top spot in district, travel over 290 to play Cy Fair in pt 2 of my D-17 watch. Cy Fair has Falls twice, Cy Ranch and Langham Creek remaining on their schedule. Langham Creek has Fair, Woods and Falls, the latter two are leading the district so their game against Lakes is very important for both teams as Lakes still has Ranch Woods and Falls

D-17 has been the toughest district in the area since I said it five years ago and the district could possibly have two teams in the area semi finals at Campbell Center. Here's tomorrow's schedule, remember to double check

SCHEDULE

Texans will have 6 in 2016 #McDAAG

No big surprises for me on this seasons selection and with the exception of Nancy Mulkey, I had a chance to see all of the others prior to high school and I knew I was looking at some special players. Mulkey did blow me away with a triple double and at 6'9 , well.......

Amber Ramirez-after seeing for the first time at DFW Elite's Fall Finish back in 201I knew she had "it" and her poise on the court at that age definitely told me a lot  read more

Joyner Holmes-even though Holmes hadn't played in her first high school game, I said she could college ball right now read more

In 2012, I saw Lauren Cox and Natalie Chou at Prime Time Nationals before they entered high school. After writing about Cox, a guy walked up and told me she was nothing more than a volleyball player and it's a shame guys like me wrote this stuff, plus he told me he had been coaching high school for 30 years. My response was I know guys that have been mechanics for 30 years and their cars never seem to run and this proves that by me calling an idiot, I was correct about that too read more

I also saw Cierra Johnson prior to high school at Prime Time Nationals and probably what impressed me more than her college ready body and at the time I guess 6'2 height was her court presence and after watching her at this seasons Texas Invitational, her game as well as her height has continued to grow read more

Wildcats and Eagles remain undefeated in D-17 play

Cy Woods, Cy Ranch and Cy Falls all have more than share of injuries but Woods and Falls remain undefeated in district play while Ranch, the team I picked along with North Shore as the preseason favorites to get out of her, has turned the corner and is definitely placing themselves in a position for the run. Woods has remained undefeated in spite of not having Nancy Mulkey for the past few games, Mulkey an Oklahoma signee that has a legitimate shot at being named to the McDonald's All American team today and I still believe that this district will have two representatives in the the R-3 semifinals

Wildcats hold off Falcons in District 17 thrilla

I definitely enjoyed the nightcap yesterday, no not that kind of nightcap, but the Cy Woods at Jersey Village game to finish up my evening. No Nancy Mulkey (Oklahoma) , who's a triple double waiting to happen, but as I tweeted earlier Jasmine William (Texas A&M) and Cate Reese, sophomore sensation, are averaging double-doubles or pretty darn close to it

Those Fabulos Freshmen Truong Twins have not only legitimized BCS potential but have gotten even better than when I saw them play in the FBISD Tournament, they combined for 34 , Kaylynne (21) and Kayleigh (13)  and even though they didn't win this game and probably won't make the playoffs, the next two year I have to put them among the teams to beat in R3

Sophomore twins Kyla and Kyra Collins along with fellow sophomores Christina Leon and Michelle MacIntyre have all shown they can score and that nucleus along with some talented youngsters in the pipeline will have their gym hopping ala Nina and Coco back in the day and if you don't know, well just keep reading

Gotta give a special S/O to Allison Reese and I tweeted she and Catherine were no peanut butter cups, the Reese's definitely put the Piece's together, Allie helped keep them close in the 2nd quarter, she and Cate went off in the third to help give them the lead while Williams was simply "the glue" because she's so overpowering I even got a headache watching her. Big night for Chania Malloy as she joined Cate and Jas in double figures

BOX

O'Connell clicking in St Agnes win

This was my first look at St Agnes and although I knew how the outcome would be, I had to see a few players including 2016 GPR Under The Radar stars Lauren O'Connell and Beth Hawkins.

O'Connell was coming off three straight 30 plus point games when she had an ankle injury however you never would have known watching her zig and zag her way to the basket for easy baskets or assists but one thing that I've always loved watching her do shoot the long ball and her 8 three pointers on the night sort of tells you why I've impressed with this young lady since she was in middle school

Hawkins continues to show a variety of positives other than her wingspan and height of 6'0. She can rebound on both ends as well as score on the inside but her ability to face the basket and score is what keeps getting better and her upside is definitely a plus. She did great job of altering shots, her timing on that and playing the passing lanes left me with a smile

2017 Isabella Rathgeb is almost at the magic number of 6'0 however she plays 2 taller right now, some of that because of wingspan, much of it on desire and the throwback mentality of following one's shot, hers, definitely creates some problems but she's a double-double waiting to happen

HBU @ New Orleans on ESPN 3

As teams try and position themselves for what's shaping up to be another exciting Southland Conference Tournament March 9-13 at the Merrell Center in Katy, HBU travels to take on New Orleans at 4pm and you can watch it by, well clicking WATCH, well sort of

Before anyone attempts to correct me , I know exactly what TRIPLE means because I'll open it up at 4:30 seeing a couple of GPR Under The Radar players, 6'0 Beth Hawkins and sharpshooter Lauren O'Connell who is one of the states top long ball shooters and I'll close with a game to be named later but rest assured, it will be a JV and Varsity game, giving me three games and it will also have some exciting long ball threats

D-17 heats up "Who Ya Gonna Call Now"

Since the first game started at 5:30 the Berry Center I had several to choose from in the vicinity. Langham Creek hosting Cy Fair was the closest, Creek pulled off the victory in OT but I chose to check out Cy Creek at Cy Falls because Catfish Station was across the street. Even though I didn't go after the game, I saw a scrappy Creek team with tons of energy however the Eagles are definitely flying high as they're ties for 1st in district with Cy Woods. Now Woods held on to beat Cy Lakes on the road by an extra point, 17-16 and although I make a lot of typos, that's not one of them

DISTRICT

I guess the most interesting thing will be who won't make the playoffs, Langham made a giant step at putting themselves into contention as their fantastic freshmen of Briley Perkins (18) and Dyani Robinson (23) combined for 41 points in the win

BOX

Mustangs outrun Panthers at end

If I had one wish for every team I've watched in high school girl's basketball since I actually became interested shortly before the turn of the century, it's that they could make it through the season injury free. Hightower, Cy Falls and Cy Ranch have battled through more injuries than any other team if I'm not mistaken and I'm talking about multiple players on each team but the Mustangs of Cy Ranch may just have everyone beat as far as that. Last night marked the return of Deauzya Richards, one of the top players in the country and D'Asia Collins, one of the states top sophomore points played in her second game showing know lingering effects from a knee injury

Arianna Whitfield has been out multiple games, as well as Rachel Tapps, Whitfield is one of the top 17s in the state, she scored her number (20) while Tapps has signed with UTEP, so this can change the complexion of a team dramatically if one of those D1 pieces of  the puzzle or not there. The Mustangs weren't as crisp as they'll be in a week or two but the chemistry is definitely there in time for the run and they fought off a talented Cy Springs squad who are battling for a playoff spot as well.

Tasia Hayes went off dropping four threes on the evening including two in the first quarter giving the Panthers an early 19-14 lead after one, in fact they lead after each of the first three quarters as multiple players put up numbers including 6'2 freshman Tiffany Mack who scored 10. Richards also scored 10 for  Cy Ranch in return but her desire to go after the ball, aka following her shots, is somewhat of a lost art nowadays but this was a pretty good game, both teams are still in the playoff hunt and if the Mustangs stay healthy, they could be hunting 1-10 West

Sharpshooter Lauren O'Connell set for return with St Agnes #GPRUnderTheRadar

Nothing like nagging injuries at the wrong time and combo guard Lauren O'Connell has definitely had her share of them. One thing that impressed this young lady initially was her ability to shoot the long ball, this was even before high school and let me say she has turned out to be a complete player, especially on the offensive end as her ability to catch and shoot with accuracy, hit the midrange consistently and take defenders off the dribble have all continued to go up

O'Connell was averaging over 22 ppg  prior to injury, she's still around 20 and when you factor in she put up 30 in three consecutive games, this alone tells you she's a more than capable scorer. Lauren teams up with another GPR Under The Radar player, 6'0 Beth Hawkins, who is closing out her career with a bang. Hawkins can face the basket and score as well as in the paint and her wing span enables her to block and (or) alter shots. Tomorrow, I'll catch the duo at St John's

Pantherettes continue dominance

Duncanville's Cierra Johnson is standing tall and I'm talking literally as the 6'4 senior is on par to close out her HS career with a bang. The senior, who signed with Louisville is looking to make her 3rd trip to the Texas HS Championship, she's been on a state champion squad as well as a runner-up, in fact Duncanville has won 3 titles in this century alone

When I saw them at the Texas Invitational back in November, they were playoff ready then and watching them breeze through the tournament with ease including winning big against the best team in our region,  North Shore, well they've continued to breeze right along and are at 25-0. Can anyone beat them? You only have to be the best team that game, always remember that, however ..........

RECORD

Owls win triple OT thriller against North Texas

Someone asked me a while back when Rice was going to a game and I told them they already had but I also added that if you look at the scores or better attend some games, you'd get a better a feel but this is also Why I'm an evaluator and even though Rice has lost 11 games on the season, three of those losses came to Top 10 teams, Kentucky, Texas and Baylor by big margins as well as a double digit loss to SFA but the other seven games were definitely winnable, two losses by 3, two by 6 and by the margins of 5, 7 and 8

The Owls move to 2-1 in conference play with their triple overtime victory over North Texas, who have also shown they're going to be a squad you won't take likely, their early season win against Oklahoma on the road and what's coming in next season tells me that, but I missed an exciting game, can't be two places at once, believe me I've tried

Cougars lose tough one to Mustangs

I had a chance to catch SMU yesterday, they were in town to play the Cougars and what a finish. The Mustangs were the very first college to subscribe to my scouting service five years ago and anytime I get a chance to see a subscriber, I'm definitely going to be in attendance. Former Duncanville stars Morgan Bolton and Kiarra Perry, both have memories of big time plays they made during the course of their careers embedded in my mind, plus I had a chance to catch several other stars I'd watched over the years, McKenzie Adams (Frisco), Gabrielle Wilkins(Garland) and Dai'Ja Thomas (Skyline) and the Mustangs pulled out a come from behind victory

On the flip side, this was another tough loss for the Cougars but what I saw in the first half alone has me continuing to think this is going to be a Top 25 caliber program in a few years. This was my first look at USC transfer Chyanne Butler and just on what she did in the opening two quarters told me a lot as she scored 14 points, had some steals but ran the offense with plenty of poise. They have plenty of talented young players, freshman Seritha Hawkins has definitely shown signs of greatness, plus with their Fab 5 recruiting class of 2016, this is going to be interesting

Collins return key to Ranch run

If you've read what I've written over the years you should know that one thing has remained constant "the games starts at the one" and no matter what you think you believe about the game, if you don't believe that something is definitely wrong. Preseason, my top two picks were Cy Ranch and North Shore and keep in mind anything I predict is based on teams at full strength. North Shore has definitely showed they are the cream of the crop among the area 6A schools in Region 3 while Cy Ranch has had to go through the injury bug yet again, for the third straight season, that's the bad news.

The good news s that they're almost back to 100%, Arianna Whitfield and Rachel Tapps have had to miss a few games while DiDi Richards has been out since early December, she's about to come back and one of the states top sophomore points, D'Asia Collins just came back last week after being out all season with a knee injury. Collins returned with a bang, scoring, defending and running the team like she does and one thing I can say since I first saw her at 8 or 9 is that she was born to be a PG, her poise and confidence along with her BB-IQ has been off the charts since day one and she simply blew me away a couple of years later at the Texas A&M Camp so this is about to get interesting

HBU completes comeback with win over Southeastern Louisiana

How about this photo of HBU's Miss Double-Double Anna Strickland (10-17) helping Miss Excitement  Monet Neal (18-7) up after the team put together a ferocious comeback after being down by 12 in the  third quarter for the victory. It looked kinda bleak after a questionable foul call on Miss Glue Rachel Arthur, who helped keep them close in the first half with her 9 points but what I liked even more than anything as their fight as a team keep coming back

Always remember where the game starts and Lisa Z wasn't on fire like she was the previous game however her 7 assists were definitely huge as well as Amanda Johnson who came off the bench and scored 11 points including B2B threes in 3rd quarter, she had three for the game,  and that along with a Strickland free throw gave HBU the lead

BOX

Southeastern's PG KaeLynn Boyd definitely kept me on the edge of my seat, she just missed a double-double with 18 points and 9 assists along with 5 steals while Nanna Pool added 15 points and 8 rebounds

Mustangs continue to send message

The more I watch North Shore, the more I smile about picking them as the team to beat back in October, well actually I said them and Cy Ranch, who have gone through numerous injuries to key players all season long but are almost back. Speaking of key players, had I known Channelview's Diedre Dobbins and Kianna Hall were out, I might have adjusted my schedule but to be honest with you, glancing at the scores from last night, there were not any upsets so ......

BOX

When Chastity Patterson banked in a three from the top of the key to start the game, I knew SHOWTIME was coming and I tweeted she was definitely putting on a show in the opening quarter on her way to 29 for the game which led all scorers. North Shore just had multiple players coming at the Falcons early last night and after the first quarter which had the Mustangs up 24-10, I sort of knew how this was going

Taylor Alexander scored 10 to lead Channelview and probably was near a double-double but with her size and athleticism, I really love how she continues to she me different facets of her game and when you have to bang against the interior North Shore has, Victoria Blankenship, 18 points last night, and 6'2 Alyssa Okoene who signed with North Carolina, that solidifies what I think about her ability to play at the next level. I'll be tweeting some pics from the game so check it out
