Inman and Alix Going Out Like They Came In

Christin Inman and AJ Alix came into high school as the the two top freshmen in the city and when they finish their senior seasons at Seven Lakes and Bellaire, they will finish the same way they started. The explosive Inman has already decided Northwestern would be her next stop at the next level while the "don't blink or you may miss something" Alix hasn't announced her decision yet. Needless to say, both players will have their high schools in the hunt next season because both are capable of averaging over 30ppg, so even though Seven Lakes and Bellaire will look a bit different on the court, they still could be major players because they have"major players"

Langham Creek star makes it #75

Rebekah Douglas is one of the most underrated players from the 2012 class. She has been a force her entire career for Langham Creek where she was again named All District. At 5'10, she has the work ethic of those throwback players from yesteryear where they battled every play on both ends. That work ethic won't stop with the Lobos as she will be doing the same thing at Milsaps. I knew this class would mirror 2005, however never in my wildest dreams did I see 80 within reach

Early Regisration Special Ends Saturday May 5th For Insiders Classic

The Houston Insiders Basketball Classic starts May 18th and remember this is also an evaluation tournament covered by Girlz Prep Report which is doing only a handful this season. I'm still writing about players from the Alodia Prime Time Rising Star Showcase, which was almost two weeks ago, and having mentioned over 100 names from that tournament alone. With the number of signees from our area reaching 75 this season, that also let's you know there are players everywhere you haven't already heard about over and over, again do the math and read Exposure From Girlz Prep Report and in this case, more is better!

Pearland Flames Blazing Through

The Pearland Flames consist of players from Pearland, Dawson and Manvel High Schools and they were one of the most impressive teams at the Alodia Prime Time Rising Star Showcase. I had seen Pearland play earlier in the Texas Invitational and I was impressed by their size, speed and three point shooting and even more so by their youth which trickles over to the club team because all players are from the 2014 class. Keara Hundall at 5'10 is simply a beast in the paint and the vast improvement from 6 footers Kaila Chizer and Laneetra Guillory tells me Pearland will make some noise next season

I also had a chance to see Cree Hammond for the first time and it appears she may be a little taller than the 5'10 indicated on the roster. Blessed with blazing speed and athleticism, I expect her to step on the court at Dawson and give them a new look and with the potential she showed on the floor, her upside is unlimited

Lauren Price Completes Taz Trifecta For #74

 Lauren Price could have been one of those players that fell through the cracks even though she was an All District and All Region Player multiple times. On one club team, she traveled across the country and didn't play and on her last one nagging injuries kept her grounded but this young lady still made it. I've been friends with her dad for some time and I knew Lauren had the ability to play at the next level, being one of the top players at Atascocita and helping them become one of the top teams in the area. After weighing her options, Lauren has decide to attend Le Moyne in New York. I asked her dad Carlos his thoughts and he said  "We are happy that Lauren signed with Le Moyne University.  Lauren chose Le Moyne over other offers because of Le Moyne ranking 18th by US News  and World Reports North Regional Colleges,  Le Moyne's doctorate program which will allow Lauren to earn her doctorate degree in physical therapy in only 6 years so she can be a doctor by age 24, and the way the coach and players made Lauren feel wanted and comfortable.  Thanks to GPR and Simmie Colson for their help in bringing the two together"

Shadonnavar Young (Summer Creek) has grown not only in height but also knowledge of the game, not to mention she adds another three point shooter to the arsenal of the Gulf Coast Blue Chips who already have two young ladies, Faith Cook and Tiffany Arceneaux, that I have already watched drop 10 in a game

2012 All District Players-2015 Class Makes Some Noise

Brynae Thompson grew up and finished strong during her freshman season at Jersey Village, making 1st Team All District in one of if not the toughest districts in the city. With me calling yet another one right by saying the 2012 class would mirror the 2005 class as far as next level players, it made me wonder which class would come closest or surpass this years signees which right now stands at 74, the 2014 or 2015's. Taking a peek at the Chronicle's link for All District, it's too early to tell but I know several freshmen stepped in and did some damage

FRESHMEN FANTASTIC FIVE

Kimi Carter (Barbers Hill)-in her first season, she not only started but was a big factor on Barbers Hill making it to state

Jordan Hosey (Manvel)-had some incredible games and showed signs of being a national Top 20 player before it's all said and done

Adriiana Jackson (North Shore)-came right in and ran the point from Day 1 while handling the pressure both on and off the court

Bernesha Peters (Spring)-had to carry the load by herself since fellow frosh Brittany Peters and Brittany Smith had to play JV, but she too made the transition from middle school to high school point guard with ease

Erica Ogwumike (Cy Woods)-unlike her sisters, she had guard skills entering her freshman year in high school and put up numbers off the top. Top 100 is written all over her

Sometimes being under the radar, UTR, is a good thing, especially when college coaches see potential in a player they feel that can help their program that other coaches might have missed . Since the story on Lauren Price, the third of Atascocita's "Big Three" will be coming up later today, I decided to name a few players during the week who for whatever reason(s) are UTR. Maybe they were on the wrong team to fit their style of play. Maybe they went to exposure events and were hurt and couldn't play or perform to the best of their ability. Maybe they didn't play at all because the team was trying to win a game and sometimes there are no second chances

With the graduation of Veja Hamilton at Klein Collins, Dominique Dillingham will need some help in order to keep Klein Collins in the hunt. I've been high on Jasmine Nash since the first time I saw her right before she entered high school and it's been a gradual progression but there appears to be big things in store for the young lady as she enters her junior year. Expect more offense from this already defensive minded player who has been playing combo guard early in the club ball season and if she's placed in the right position during July, she won't be under the radar for long
