Hoopstarz Sims goes into beast mode at Hoopfest

Let me take you back about 10 years ago, my daughter was a freshman at Westside and we were playing in the Lovelady Holiday Tournament which happened to be on Thanksgiving weekend. Their second round opponent happened to be Bryan and that was one of the most exciting games I'd witnessed in my life at the time. Westisde lost 89-86, no OT's baby as it was up and down, baseline to baseline action that had the gym literally rocking.

I said that to say this, Bryan has always put out exceptional players over the years that played hard and never quit and it appears nothing has changed as the Bryan Lady Hoopstarz brought a couple of teams down to the Insiders Hoopfest and showed they are still buying into the philosophy that will always work

Over the years, Alex Sims has shown that you are not going to outwork her on the court. The first time I saw her as a freshman, she was raw is the best way to put it but when you have a work ethic like she showed, not to mention an older sister playing at Lamar, certain things more times than not will fall into place.

She's still a hard worker and the skills have definitely improved as she is a legitimate threat on both ends of the court. That, along with the ability to face the basket and nail the 10-15 footers shows that if you put in the time, it will pay off at the end of the day, well game.
