Marie Bailey is another Westbury Christian weapon #UnderTheRadar

I was amazed by Marie Bailey's range a few years ago and one thing I knew right off the top is that this young lady could score. Fast forward a few years later Bailey continue to show what type of arsenal she possesses as she's one of the reasons Wetbury Christian is heading to state. Yes, she can shoot the long ball, that's been established as she's one off the top long ball shooters in her  TAPPS district as well as one of the leading scorers

She's also put up numbers against some of the top 6A programs in the area, it's not what you do it's who you do it against a wise man once said and that same wise man knows this young lady is definitely level player, video coming so be ready because her shot is smooth and steady, well steady going in

Cy Woods has proven they're the team to beat

It's a simple as what I said earlier on how this  would play out, North Shore would meet Cy Woods in the regional semi's and they were the only team in the area capable of pulling it off, that is stopping the Wildcats from heading to San Antonio. Cy Woods has simply been amazing and the additions of Cate Reece and Jasmine Williams were the candles on the already iced cake. Nancy Mulkey has at times been simply someone I can't describe and to think as great as she is she will still be better in college. Tatyana Perez simply has mesmerized me with her improved ball-handling and passing, the game starts at the one folks and this young lady has expanded her game so much that I simply don't think anyone is going to even come closes this weekend.

Erica Ogwumike, EO, The Glue, The Baby actually lit those candles as well as she torched the nets, now that was smooth. I don't remember all of the names I've called her but I know she''s dominated her position in the area on both ends and what she showed towards the end of the regional finals, that is setting up some of her teammates off the bench for baskets speaks of her character because she could have had 50 if she wanted Big S/O to Shelbey Stephenson for bringing both O and D when needed in clutch situations throughout the season and I'll break down the match-ups as best as I can later but when the team get's caught in two #AutoAwesome photos ......

Wichita State with the THREEPEAT

Wichita State clinched their third straight Missouri Valley Conference title over the weekend and the picture above is worth a thousand words so the video below is .......

Box and one doesn't stop Schnell

POPCS beat Colleyville Covenant 51-35 in the Sweet 16 match-up. Even with a box-in-one defense on Cori Schnell throughout the game, she scored 24 of her team's points, including four 3-pointers.

POPCS will face Midland Christian today at 4:00 PM, Brewer High School, Ft. Worth, that’s the same team that knocked them out last year however  POPCS is ready for the rematch!

#BattleAtTheHive coming up but let's take a flashback

Okay I outdid myself, I saw Lauren Cox and Natalie Chou at Prime Time Nationals in the 8th grade however I outdid myself starting my very on segment of Fieldhouse Friday and low and behold, 6th grader Katelyn Levings blew me away and based on this video I sent out a few months ago, hello BCS and the awards will come pouring in. Levings is one of many young stars I'll be checking out this weekend, check out the video and you don't need 20/20 vision to know this 2020 is what I said she was

SCHEDULE

Wolves come up short but message received

Westside was the only HISD team that made a run this season which sort of shows how the tide has shifted and although they lost to Cy Woods convincingly, they fought from the opening tip until the final buzzer and that in itself impresses because you weren't going to beat them, their chances would have been better against North Shore, and to fight back from double digits against both Cy Woods and Seven Lakes, a couple of the top programs in the city, after squeaking by Katy Taylor says a whole lot

Beating Clear Springs after losing Maddisen Turner with 7 min left in the semifinal was their icing on the cake, this spoke volumes about them coming together against a team just as defensively aggressive as them simply blew me away cause I think I tweeted it was going to go the other way. A good core group of Sentreal Gregory, Tanea Thomas, Cory Seals and Kirby Celestine will come into their senior year knowing what it feels like and the good thing about freshmen is that they become sophomores is something I truly don't get  but my editor wants X amount of words for me to get paid so I'll add it in. Ny'Asia Goldman has a bright future ahead and that group along with whoever else I'll see wearing the black and the blue will have me yelling SELLUHHHHSTEEEEEEN one more time

'18 Patin adds finishing touch to Cabrini win

I've talked Rayven Patin's explosiveness over and over and once again, she simply finds a way to do something to amaze me

A&M Consolidated run falls short

I enjoyed watching both A&M Consolidated and Rudder and I have to make it a point to catch both next season but I love the way Lady Tigers head coach put things in perspective "We're proud of our kids,"  Heintz said. "One game does not define us. We didn't finish it off. You can't make critical errors in that time of the game, but a couple of critical errors should not negate 17 hustle plays to get you back in it. You can't come from 12 down in the fourth quarter against a team that's going to state without some moxie. We have a little bit of that."

Aerial Starks was on “Air Alert” as she played like the big time player I keep telling you all she is and her 27 came from a variety of ways.  Much respect to PG Alexis Oaks, she’s definitely a next level player that’s smart and can a run a team and how about Beth Ashley being in the zone from long range, five threes in a half ain’t no joke but she shot the ball well every time I saw her play this season

Rudder holds off A&M Consolidated to advance to state

When I caught Rudder a couple of weeks ago playing Stratford, it was actually my first time seeing the team in a few years. I caught several of their players on the club circuit but after watching the athleticism and heat that they brought, it's no surprise that they put this together and are heading to state

The twins, Briana and Kiana Suber, gave me some lasting memories that will be forever embedded my mind with the hangin in the air, double and triple pumps, ESPN Top 10 worthy blocks and I could just go on and on and on about how impressed I was but it wasn't just the twins

Ebony James and Patrickia Daily brought it on both ends over and over and what an I say about Ke"Asia Williams as she along with B Suber put up numbers galore. Teashton Thompson, Meagan Daily, and Jasmine Johnson have been key reserves all season but not as much as this weekend when Rudder battled through foul trouble and those players had to step up. Cheyenne Nunley was out due to an injury

K Suber ices this one with two free throws and Rudder moves on to state
