Kayla Owens isn't the first player in middle school to score 40 points in a game but to my knowledge she's the first that plays at a school, Kahla, that is a homophone for her first name, to score 40, I'll get back with you after I check with Guiness and I'm not talking about the book
Every time I've seen this young lady play, she's shown me something different and while she was still raw when I saw her for the first time almost a year ago, she showed rapid improvement at the Big State Flava Jam and was simply off the charts at the Young Guns Camp I covered last year
Owens is also the name of a popular sausage which is great because Kayla will be cooking this season!
