Sophomore Burke looking forward to super summer

I saw flashes of what Katie Burke could do over last summer which translated into her stepping on center stage early this season for The Woodlands. The Highlanders had lost several players the previous season and although Burke knew she would receive plenty of playing time, she found herself starting after numerous early season injuries and the transformation from seeing her in November during the Texas Invitational to what she was doing in December at Sandra Meadows assured me she was on the verge of something huge

Huge is how she played throughout district, often having to guard the opposing teams offensive threat and being named Lady Highlander Defensive Player Of The Year let's you know I don't need to say anything else, but I will. Burke was also named Academic and Honorable Mention All District and eve though her offense is what caught my eye, you can catch this young lady operating with the Houston Premier this summer
