#GirlsTXJamboree shows variety

The 2014 Texas Jamboree rolled smoothly and effortlessly just like many of the players on the floor. The opening game had Duchesne against Wheatley, this was my first look at both squads as Wheatley is definitely trying replace pieces from last seasons team however the main piece is in order with point guard Eryka Sidney. I've been saying she was one of the top guards in Texas 2016 the past three seasons and she definitely shows it on the court while Duchense's Ilya Babineuax is a 6'2 sophomore that creates problems galore on both ends of the floor

Like Sidney, I've also been calling Jasmyne Harris another of the top Texas kids in that same 2016 class and at 5'9 she is one of those unique players that does things around the rim. Her athleticism is through the roof and her range sometimes opens the roof up as she can score in bunches. Marissa Banfield is one of the top points right now and even though the sophomore isn't halfway through her high school career, she simply knows how to control the tempo, get teammates involved or just take over when needed

SATCH definitely brought some firepower back from last season with Anna McCleod and Maddison Schenck, two of the states top juniors but the things I've seen over the past few months from freshman Mikayla Schenck has been simply mind-boggling. I knew the younger Schenck was going to be really good a couple of seasons ago however something has clicked and she's way ahead of schedule in fact with the mindset she's showing, there is no telling what lies ahead. Girls and Boys Prep are led by Eemani Brown and Ireneshia Johnson, one of the states top sophomores. Brown keeps coming at you on both ends while if ever a player should be labeled as a BEAST, it is definitely Johnson

Bellaire and St. Agnes closed out the night and I've seen Bellaire multiple times this season and each time I have a different view on how they'll do in district against Westside. Their athletic and explosive and the fireworks definitely started last night with Aeriel Hioliday and Aaliyah Austin hit the court. St. Agnes on the other hand had their own extinguisher handy in Lauren O' Connell who is one of the deadliest three point shooters in the area but the Cardinals simply have several pieces to play around with as they keep coming at you
