Texas The Dream HS create nightmares for opponents

5'11 Brooklyn Garcia (2014) was like a Timex as she took several licks but kept on ticking and attacking and more importantly, finishing while taking contact. With her frame, there's a good chance she will be playing somewhere as she truly has several good next level qualities and this team has several solid players.

I love players who can read the floor like and anticipate which is exactly what Tyra Burnett showed she was capable of doing. She's also very athletic and can put it on the floor as she and Cassidy Barber, who knocked down several mid-range jumpers, join Garcia from the 2014 class

The other young ladies are from te 2015 class, Tiera Burnett is a little taller than sister Tyra and her qualities were her strength and ability to rebound against taller players. Meagan Benson not only saw the floor well and hit players on the money but she too anticipated and rebounded not to mention shot in from "deeeeeep" several times for threes. Courtney Kerr understands the game well and she understood that running the floor  in transition got her many easy buckets or free throw attempts. More Texas players leave state as Thomas commits

After Mansfield Timberview's Terriell Bradley decided her next stop would be Kansas, I tweeted about yet another misconception several people have regarding Texas talent. Yes, players do leave the state! I also stated there are more next level players in Texas than available scholarships from Texas schools each year and when you throw in the simple fact that all Texas school rosters are not made up of all players from Texas........

Add DFW T-Jack's  Brecca Thomas (Kincaid) to the list as she's heading to Colorado as well as other local stars, Westbury Christian's Carly Truesdale who will be suiting up for Wisconsin and Angie Moore-University of Colorado-Pueblo . GPR Texas Top 100 players Recee Caldwell is heading to UCLA while Nicole Iademarco will be attending going to Arizona State

Texas Fire Newton-Red shows some heat at DSS

Delaney Dye was just about everywhere for Texas Fire Newton-Red at the Dallas Spring Shootout as the young lady played taller than her listed 5'10. She rebounded strong and finished well and on top of that converted from the line numerous times. This team has several quality players including Demi Frazier who can not only attack but hit the 10-15 footer accurately. Breanna Barber just scores from a variety places whether its inside or outside and I'm talking almost outside of Swisher where the games were played. Alex Harris not only handled the ball well but saw the floor and got wherever she wanted to on the court

Hawks show they can fly at DSS

It's always good to have players that can not only get to the free throw line but also convert and the North Texas Hawks had several that could do just that. It seems like every picture I have of Erin Payne, she's at the line knocking down the freebie. Alex Reynolds stands at the magic number of 6'0 and she finished strong in the paint and converted several and ones. Rachael Morgan, Celeste Emeott and Avery Rowler showed they could nail the three ball. Courtney Loveland attacked nicely from the wing on several plays while Lindsey maso showed she could not only get to the rim but hit the ever so important mid-range jumper

Spotlight was on several Texas Heat-Milwood players at DSS

Talking about throwback and remixing it up, Texas Heat coach Jon Milwood is another guy I've been knowing like almost forever in this GBB world and I guess we met sometime after the turn of the century, that never gets old. He's had some quality players since I met him and nothing has changed as the new look shows a variety of styles on his squad

Angel Crump showed she could handle the ball and shot the midrange well. Genesis Alvarez used her size nicely and had one of the best drop steps I've seen this season. Madi Dunnels ran the floor and finished, not to mention being able to be a zone buster while Jacy Lloyd saw the floor well. The lone senior , Breha Scott, is very athletic and showed she has the ability to play at the next level but the player who you will read about the tip sheet is Ladresha Dillard who was simply amazing in the paint

H4H Texas Fire Blue shows firepower at DSS

When you have guards that can bring the heat you better have guards that can handle it the other side otherwise things might not go as planned. Hoops 4 Him Texas Fire Blue had several guards that could apply pressure like Ashley McClain, Lindsey and Payton Wesly. McClain also showed her ability to get to the rim and take a hit while finishing

Brianna Griffin showed she could shoot the long ball but again, this teams ability to put pressure on their opponents was a huge plus for me to see, especially from a team playing at 8am. Brianna Griffin showed she could knock the long one but my pic for the tip sheet goes to yet another 2017, Addison Ryan. Ryan also played on their Black team and her orange shoes certainly caught my eye before her game so stay tuned for her breakdown

Texas The Dream-Red show potential at DSS

 I may have mentioned a time or two that I always look at progression and how players handle themselves in and under situations, if you haven't read it before, here it is again. I watched Texas The Dream-Red multiple times and saw this team made up primarily of freshmen with only one sophomore got better each time I watched them. Alexis Little showed she could shoot the three while Lorin Worthington did that and also showed her quickness as she anticipated well while also defending. Marlee Thomas slashed her way by defenders numerous times while Kylie Quintenna was very active on both ends and Meredith Caudle showed she could get to the line

Argyle Lady Eagles fly to HS Grand Championship at DSS

The Argyle squad is made up of some of the players from the high school along t\with three talented 2017 players, did I mention anything about that being monster class. '15 Delaney Sain was impressive right off the start and at 5'11 she did a couple of very important things quite well, rebound and finish. She was also one of the big reasons they won won the Prime Time Dallas Spring Shootout Grand Championship but there were others that made their presence felt

I liked Vivian Gray before I found out she was a '17 which made it not only icing on the cake but gave me another for my tip sheet. Jessica Sheridan and Olivia Gray proved to be zone busters, I'm thinking the Gray's are related while Clair Retzhold helped Sain on the inside. Madison Ralston and Jocelyn Piece were the other '17 players, Ralston at 5'11 runs the floor well and did several things to catch my eye Pierce is a big guard, 5'9, that does what college coaches love to see, nail the midrange jumper. The good thing is they both have time and the school team should make some noise.

Dallas Stars have several that shine at Dallas Spring Shootout

Anytime I get a chance to visit with Dallas Stars coach Roosevelt Riley, it brings back memories of when our daughters played against each other when they were very young which then makes me realize actually how long I've been doing this. In case you don't know who his daughter is Google Andrea Riley.

One thing I can also count on is his teams giving everything they have no matter what so this was a bonus especially when I found out that other than a couple of freshmen, they were all sophomores. Genecia Newman is at the magic number and she played even bigger attacking and finishing almost at will. Taylor Green at 6'2 is over the magic number and she turned out to be a rebounding machine on both ends while Ariel Page was another type of machine as she showed she could score from anywhere, many from long range. Alexis Gilbert was one of many others who showed they have a little something work with however a young lady I hadn't seen in a while, Chelsea Warren, has elevated her  game and will make the tip sheet, stay tuned for that.

It's always refreshing to know that I'm right about something but it's even better when someone as knowledgeable as Bob Corwin gives me a thumbs up. Bob was one of only a handful of high profile writers and evaluators who showed me the common courtesy to respond back to my emails when I was questioning how the system worked as far as rankings, exposure, etc, this was back when my daughter was still in middle school.

Over the years we've had many conversations on the talented players across the country and especially those in Texas and Bob was on hand to cover the DFW Elite Top 16 event this past weekend. We spoke briefly on Saturday night and he gave a huge thumbs up to several players in attendance including many from Texas. His story will be coming on Fullcourt.com soon.

Among the players mentioned were a couple that moved up to DFW Elite T-Jack this past weekend, '16 Calveion Landrum and '17 Alexis Morris, both by the way have been tip "sheeted" by yours truly, yes that's a new word
