Saturday’s Chris Saiz Point the Way Foundation Senior
Showcase ended with at least one girl walking away with a scholarship offer and
others expecting to receive calls. For a
first time event, the college coaches in attendance seemed impressed. Top
performers included Tyler Davis (Cy Woods) who averaged 10 points a game and
won the 3-point contest hitting a Showcase record 15 treys in a single
minute. Sydnee Bright (Jersey Village),
the Showcase MVP, averaged 14 points a game also showed her talent. Jaelea Dejean (Houston Christian), Carlissa
Charles (Dawson) and Italy Walker (Willowridge) all averaged double-figures in
scoring. While Amber Richard (Goosecreek Memorial) impressed everyone with her
passing abilities and her hard-nosed defense.
