This falls into the category of one of those games you glad you fought the traffic to see and from the early going, it just gave you a feeling it could go either way. Cy Fair came into their Berry Center match-up against Cy Wood undefeated and when the final horn sounded, that hadn't changed as they won 57-54
Ashley Foster gave Woods a 3-2 lead when she nailed her first three and again late in opening quarter as they lead 14-13, Foster finished with three threes (9) in the first half while Erica Ogwumike (8) and Tatiana Perez (7) kept Woods close in first half point but Fair took the lead back 29-27
Fair got the lead back basically as Angela Harris found ways to get to the basket for points (9) and Shania Woods simply being almost majestic in the paint as she probably had at least double digit rebounds to go along with her 10 points.
They stretched their lead to five, 42-37, after three as Asia Woods, Shania's younger sister got into the act scoring and rebounding. Harris hit Amber Lane with a no look 20 foot cross court pass for a basket and you can sense the momentum changing as the lead grew to 8 but EO kept Woods in the hunt with 8 points in the quarter
Fair was getting buckets from a variety of players other than Harris and the Woods sister. Taylor McCowan scored down the middle and from the wing, Shannon Berg hit a couple of huge basket to stop runs while Kylee Wyatt came off the bench to hit some big baskets of her own
This was game that could have gone either way, Cy Fair has all but assured themselves a trip to the playoffs as they stay undefeated in district play.Check out the box score
