I spoke with my good friend Irving Butler about all the injuries the club has had all season.Butler is the head coach of DFW Gold plus he's a good friend that I've known for almost 10 years and one thing I can always count on is an honest answer from the heart. Several key players from various teams are injured including Top 100 player Chelsea Jennings, who was knocked out a few weeks ago, not to mention Moriah Jefferson and Jordan Jones both being injured the same day, they too Top 100 players. All three play on DFW's top squad, T-Jack and when asked about Nike Nationals, Butler as always was more concerned about the kids safety.
With all that being said, I had no idea Roshanda Johnson was playing with nagging injuries as she and Arkansas Mavericks Jamie Ruffins put on quite the show in a point guard battle. Breanna Hayden #20, continues to make a name for herself as she has stepped out of big sister and Baylor standout Kimetria's shadow.
Derriel Banyard and Imani Wright teamed with Ruffins to hold off a furious DFW Gold team for three point victory and the battle between the "bigs" 6'2 Erin Maxwell from DFW, top photo and 6'3 Halle Washington #35 and 6'4 Katelyn Weber #43 pictured below was memorable to say the least
