PEGGY WHITLEY CONSOLATION ROUND

I had a blast hanging out at Clear Creek and I don't know what I enjoyed most, the action from several talented teams and players or hanging out with some of the greatest coaches from our area who paved the way for Girl's Basketball including Susan Smith, former Westfield High School coach, along with the lady this tournament is named after, Peggy Whitley who coached at Clear Creek. I had a blast and I'm looking forward to coming back next season. I'll have a story on the quarterfinal action this weekend on the website under Peggy Whitley Classic, but here are some pics from the consolation round. Teams that won are listed first.

Clear Creek vs Westbrook

Brittney Branch iced the game with her free throws, however Clear Creek was getting scoring and rebounding from everyone including BB's sophomore counterparts, Taylor Longley and Amber Harris. Westbrook is a tough team and both squads could have easily been advancing on the other side.

Clear Brook vs Baytown Sterling

Kia Love was everywhere for Clear Brook as they continue to play well. The day before, they took Cy Fair to the wire, down by 2 in the last 2 minutes, so the hard work is paying off

Clear Lake vs Dulles

Dulles played well enought to win the game, however the improvement this team has made from the first time I saw them in the fall shows Coach Rosenbalm has a plan
