Lady Warriors White looked #DYNOMITE @ 2017 Prime Time Nationals #8thGrade

Talk about talented young players and this Lady Warrior White squad has just that. Athleticism, skill set and plenty of energy and fight that it can knock you right out of your sea, I'll get to that later. Jahcelyn Hartfield is a combo guard that does both well, she also defends but her ability to attack, well that first step is something to see. Taylor Smith, Jordyn Bell and Destini Winzer all bring some heat when they hit the floor, parts are interchangeable as they keep coming and when you're long and athletic like Aniya Williams, well she just makes things happen on both ends of the floor, plus she plays the passing lane

That back-court is solid, Iyanna McCown is the lone 2022 on this 2021 squad and it seems like I've been writing about her forever but when I look at the notes, the first time was when she was in the 2nd grade and I just knew something special was coming. She thinks the game and at her age, oh my but on top of that, she already understands how to run a team and when to take a game over and her reverse lay-up definitely was impressive in traffic. Kate Renner and Madison Jones upside definitely is something that I'll be looking at as well as Jayda Howard

I wasn't laughing when Kiyara Howard-Garza leaped over the baseline for a loose ball and knocked me out my seat, I remember a player doing that over 10 years ago and landed on the coaches lap, that got her a scholarship to New Mexico so you can't teach heart, you can't teach passion and she never takes a play off. On top of that, she handles the ball, defends and can hit the three but handling the ball must be a prerequisite to play on the squad because they all seem to do it. Nya Harmon did it so well , she at times appears to be hypnotizing defenders but who knows, she also does a good job at the combo

ASA doing it up @ 2017 Prime Time Nationals #8thGrade

My history with some of the  ASA players  goes back to almost TWELVE years ago, okay TEN but I had to plus it in just for fun and the fun I've had watching these young ladies simply put in work and get better is definitely something that makes me smile. Ava Pointer's game has definitely come a long way, she's stronger and more poised and is definitely creating problems shooting that mid to long range or just taking defenders off the dribble

I guess the inside play of Keundra Kelley and Victoria Sheffield sort of makes a genius cause, you know who you are, I TOLD YOU SO. Neither are close to the finished product but who is at this stage, what I truly enjoy seeing from both is that they never back down and love to battle and since they both are facing the basket to score, who knows what's next, well I know cause I just do

I can't say enough about NaLayjah Johnson and how she's taken her game to just a whole nother level, I know it ain't a word but is today because when I'm at the game, I'm seeing that Naaaaa can PLAY. Already a long ball threat, she's taking defenders off the dribble and taking the contact when she gets to the basket, I called her one of the most improved young players in the state that I had seen a few months ago, need I say more

Yeah I have more, when I saw Sissy Thompson and Precious Daily playing 2 years up 3 years ago, I said they had "star written all over them" and if you use the search bar, you can see it yourself however I don't like being questioned in anything, especially talented players and both are just that. Thompson is playing the best I've seen her play, she's everywhere, even got me water from concession during a time out, okay she didn't I'm painting a picture. Daily runs the one with precision, she scores and defends and just does what PG's do, make her teammates better, as well as writers

NTX Raptors @ 2017 Prime Time Nationals #8thGrade

I was watching all of the gadgets my grandchildren have and I told my ex-wife how amazed at how things have changed. I used to love dinosaurs , ankylosaurus was one of my favorites so when I saw the name NTX Raptors, I knew I would be impressed. Let me jump right into it, this team is well disciplined and gets after but the most noticeable thing is that they play within themselves and at this age, that's definitely huge

Jadyn Fife and Kelsey Boyette have already made Tip Sheets this season, Fife who's athleticism and ability to get to the basket is only overshadowed by that midrange I love seeing her shoot. Boyette knows and shows the game starts at the one and getting others involved is key but she also "unlocked" it with that same key by taking over when needed

This is one squad you don't want to turn your back on, Jasmine Quintana keeps getting better, showing me something new every time I see the squad, definitely love what Caitlyn Kobiskie is doing inside, rebounding on both ends and not only finishing but with contact and the jumps Kate Layton keeps showing me are definitely high ones. She is creating her own shot more, in traffic, while attacking and finishing after the lick

Lake City Pride @ 2017 Prime Time Nationals #8thGrade

Sometimes I just lucky and thing fall in my ;lap so when I caught Lake City Pride at Prime Time's SW Regional, I knew I was on to something watching a young team filled with talent. So many of  their players impressed me, in fact Ariyon Artis made the Tip Sheet so lets see if I was right

Don't even know why I did that because when it comes talent, I'm always right and what I see from Artis' game a year later is the threes are deeper and that midrange was clicking but again, this squad has some players. Naddie Carrier, Ry'n Guillory, TyJa'na Mae and Kristy Broxton bring so much heat on both ends it's scary at times and when you have athletic players that understand how to apply pressure, well that definitely can create issues for opponents
Mackenzie Williams is long and athletic, definitely alters shots and attacks well, plenty of tools in her arsenal waiting to explode while Ma'Riah Lemoine just pounds you in the paint, finishes and rebounds and just won't back down but again, this is a very talented young team with many players simply on the verge of breaking out

Several are receiving next level interest including Aasia Sam who already has a D1 offer on the table, that pull-up is hard to handle, well so is her attacking of the basket but she can take lick and is an "and one waiting to happen" Maskenzie Tillman is a "throwback" player that just goes after everything off the glass and on the floor, plus she plays the passing lane and why not close with Josie Ogea who seems to be mastering that midrange, love her creating in traffic and with this teams youth and desire, well I can't wait to see how this plays out

GTE shows Mobilnet ability @ 2017 Prime Time Nationals #8thGrade

If you've been around as long as me, you'll catch the Mobilnet however since most haven't, use me as a guide to how the game was once played and not get all "uppity" about someone with a hunnid followers ranking kids nationally as early as the 3rd grade because the game is played both on and off the court and many of you will find that out, but not in a good way. Now GTE coach RaShonta LeBlanc played it that way, both and off the court, in a good way, because she was simply an amazing player in HS and went on to star at LSU showing the "on the court" and excelling academically as well, which ties in to the "off the court" so again use my knowledge

Mackenzie Joseph is the lone 2022 on this talented 2021 squad and her efforts in the paint did not go unnoticed. Already knows how to use her body, gets physical and finishes, plus she rebounds on both ends, Kayden Morris also rebounds well and finishes with contact. Kassie Chavez gets to the basket at will and knows how to set teammates up for baskets. Love the heat from Jordan Ward and Cameron "what's the " Dill as both are athletic and just keep coming at you. Ivy Le and Audrey Postula also made things happen, showed they could score and defend while Leanne Long's length definitely creates issue on both ends. Tough young squad that will only get better, trust me

Texas Elite Lady Warriors featuring up and coming talent @ 2017 Prime Time Nationals

The one thing that grasped my attention from this squad last season was the back-court of Haili Archie and Briana Peguero as I watch them flying through the air, doing acrobatic things which was super impressive at their age, defending and knocking down shots but the more I watched the team play, they weren't the only players that were about to do some damage once they got to high school. Ja'Bria Tolden simply has me shaking my head more than some of these emails I receive, she simply makes things happen on both ends and can change the momentum of a game. Mayu Aradami has definitely taken her game up a knotch, well more than one and the inside play Kacie Johnson definitely caught my attention

On the younger squads, both the 6th and 7th grade group have lots of players on the verge of breaking out, Eryn Llyod and Khloe Vaughn continue to leave me speechless while the improvement from all of the 6th graders, especially Kennedi Archie tells me several "stars of tomorrow" are developing right before my eyes on the 6th grade squad. Anyah Sanford and Saja Cleveland were among several that caught my eye months ago on the 7th grade group, the upside running through this organization is only overshadowed by the progression to continue to see in this short period of time which tells me the group is definitely putting in the work

Cy Fair Shooters 2023 @ 2017 Prime Time Nationals #6thGrade

This talented group of young ladies made a run, I figured they would be there on Championship Sunday however my schedule didn't permit me to catch them on the rebound as they finished 4th in Prime Time Nationals 6th Grade Division. Yeah I know Madison Cox is a D1 lock, she's already over 6'0, watched her dropping threes during halftime of her MDAA older sister Lauren Cox's game against another MDAA Natalie Chou, both of which now star for Baylor, wait here's the GIF from SIM

Yep that's her and I can't remember if I called her a D1 LOCK back in the 3rd grade, I probably did knowing how much I love to do that so I can say "I told you so" but her game is really coming around but you can say that for the whole squad in the bits and pieces I saw from afar. Giselle Maul has already made one of my Tip Sheets and if I didn't say she's a lock back then, trust me she is but again I din't get to catch the team in depth like I wanted but I got ya next time and when I say I'm going to do it, it's a done deal and that applies to everything

New Elevate New Orleans exciting as old @ 2017 Prime Time Nationals #6thGrade

Me telling you I don't like saying "I told you so" just would not be true because there is nothing I love more than being right about talent at a young age and the first time I saw Elevate New Orleans going on 4 years ago, I said several of their players were D1 LOCKS and I think 5 have committed from the 2018 class to D1 programs and anther with from the 2019 so again, this is what I do and l do it well

Didn't get much of a chance to catch the new squad of 6th graders in depth however I did see them playing a touch DC Queens 2023 Platinum squad and several players impressed me. Jania Holmes and Kyra Bradley are both gifted athletes that can get to the basket and defend, love Krislen Lewis' first step, showing signs of being deadly and I was really impressed wit Terrin Coffil and Jaela Mitchell who were playing up and not only competing but doing damage

Nicole Young got the job done on the inside , she just makes things happen while the energy from both Kameryn Washington and Krislean Lucas definitely helped changed the momentum. This is a talented squad, I didn't get the look I needed, didn't realize a new coach was in charge otherwise I would have definitely made a better effort to catch these young ladies but the good news is their young, the better news is that I'm old and I don't forget anything which is why is I really can't wait to see Sophia McClean creating that shot under pressure and nailing the midrange but Sky, I gotcha bro, next time

DC Queens 2023 Platinum @ 2017 Prime Time Nationals #6thGrade

Who said DC Queens had some of the best young talent in the Metroplex FOUR years ago, never mind, fast forward to now, I'll stand by earlier assessment and continue it in our new administration so let me drop this on you. You got heat coming from everywhere on this squad, I mean Jadyn Iglehart just attacks at will, gets to the basket whenever against whoever and she defends. Kaley Oneal and Kileyah Parr's athleticism a this age enables them to cause issues for opponents as they join Iglehart with the knack for getting to the rack. Mar' Cyah Willis and Shawna Robinson also kept the heat going when they were on the floor, again heat from everywhere

Another MJ creating some problems is Mycah Jones who sees the floor very well at this stage and has range not to mention can score off the dribble but when you talk about range, Brooke Jones can definitely let it go. I saw this team a couple of times earlier this season and believe me they have some young ladies that will make some noise in te not so distant future, hey I'm hearing them now and when you observe Sydney McKinney's energy on both ends as well as her ability to blow by defenders, well that energy trickles down her squad so I'll close with Andrea Johnson who is already making things happen on both ends, she's very athletic, can get to the basket and watching her impressive floater has me "floating on" as I close out the morning session

PWP 2023 @ 2017 Prime Time Nationals #6thGrade

Sometimes things just fall into my lap and after walking around on Fieldhouse Friday from to court to court, I caught a squad that reminded me of that trailer for the movie Pleasantville because everyone was dropping threes, the mid range or whatever,  so low and behold, coach happened to have a hard copy right there and there you have it, Oklahoma PWP 2023 is on here. Gentry Baldwin is a #sizedontmatter guard that keeps coming at you, handles the ball under pressure and defends while Jenniika Boone attacks from everywhere plus she has good hands. Lia Estrada, Meredith Mayes and Kassidy Blankenship kept the heat going because no matter what the mix was on the floor, they kept battling

Alyssa Nielsen's ratings were high, hopefully you all catching this, she's athletic, knocks down the midrange with ease and just for fun, she showed me she could drop the long ball, well I saw her do that numerous times when I glanced at the squad passing by earlier. Kalayda Johnson already has a strong body that can punish as well as take punishment but she pushes the ball coast to coast under pressure, these are all positives at a young age that spells trouble for defenders. Okay she's athletic, you got that but her ability to see the floor on top of everything I just said. Gracy Wernli also saw the floor well and she creates not only for herself but her teammates plus to kep defenses honest, she too can shoot that ball, mid to long range
