This game had a little bit of everything, Davis jumped right on out against Memorial then Memorial made a comeback then Davis went up by 15 I think only to see Memorial make a late run so the intensity was there and it will help both teams as they get ready to battle teams from the toughest district in the the are. Davis will play Cy Ranch at Campbell Center on Tuesday while Memorial battles Cy Falls at Cy Lakes on the same day
Had Memorial won, Amy Houser would have been Player of the Game, she hit some big shots but others stepped up including freshman Grace Yochum who the more I see, the more I like what I see for the future. Big props to Giuliana Madrigali who made plays off the bench to help start Memorial runs but the heat Davis brings was simply too much to overcome this time
Demetria Heard, call her MiMi, played a huge role for Davis when they played at Memorial off the bench on this night, nothing had changed because she brought plenty of heat and hit a clutch shot to help seal the victory. I tweeted that Davis has eat from everywhere and numerous players could have been considered for POTG, Jerra King, Raven Brown, Antoninette Shreppe and even MiMi to name a few
However the big girl, Nijia Young was solid with a dub-dub or pretty close to it along with being a terror in the paint. Nimitz beat MacArhur so the Lady Cougars will face Cy Fair at 7pm while the Lady Generals open up the Campbell Center action at 5:30 against Cy Woods.
