The Taz clicking on all cylinders in win over Summer Creek
This picture somewhat sums it up as Atascocita turned what was shaping up to be a good game after one half to an easy victory going away against Summer Creek. The Lady Eagles have been without junior Hannah Hopkins who has already committed to Rice however I saw early in the season when they jumped on North Shore what type of depth this squad had and when you have several players that understand what seize the opportunity means, well Atascocita might just be on the verge of something
Five players scored in double figures for the Lady Eagles and after leading 32-26 at the half, they opened up the third with an 18-0 run, something I saw them do against the Mustangs and like the Mustangs, Summer Creek went on a run of their own scoring the next nine but Creek doesn't have the firepower that the Shore has and without Alaina Spencer, they were highly dependent on Jayla Calhoun and Suga Young for most of their offense as the two combined for 29 of the teams 43 points
Aimee Brown was on fire scoring 22 points but the biggest play came at the end of the third quarter and played the passing lane, stole the ball and went coast to coast with it, She was fouled on the play but she converted in fact during a three minute stretch she probably got most of her points as she was simply unconscious. Shae Moore opened the game up with a 25 footer and did a variety of things including a backwards flip that was simply amazing, she added 13. I don't know how many Darby Pugh had but I believe a couple of long ones a mid so she was in the mix for double digits as well
Anacia Wilkinson was close to a double-double along with a couple of blocks and assists, in fact she was one of the catalyst in that game against North Shore and since her twin tower partner has been out recuperating, Wilkinson has definitely been a key to the lock and her 12 points were definitely spread out at the right times. Erica Stewart and Raven Cato each scored 11 but even more importantly both can take defenders off the dribble or hit the mid as well as defend so they sit alone in District 16 and face Kingwood on Friday
