Cowgirl's reach semi's in Southland Conference Tournament

McNeese State's Allison Baggett and Jaylan Johnson impressed me so much as freshmen last season that it truly comes to no surprise that they've played a huge role in the Cowgirls making it to the semifinals of the Southland Conference Tournament. The Cowgirls had four players score in double figures in their 66-62 victory over Central Arkansas, Johnson led the way with 19 followed by Cecilia Okoye who had a double-double, 18/15. Baggett's most important three of her 14 points of the game came off a brilliant set after a timeout with a little over a minute remaining and the younger sister of former Cowgirl's stars Ashlyn and Caitlyn drained the long one to bring them within one, 60-59

Then Johnson speeds by almost everyone for an and one to give them a 62-60 lead. Central Arkansas' Courtney Deuver had a chance to tie it but the Conference POY shot just didn't fall. She was noticeably upset after the game but that young lady is simply a beast but several were  pretty scary out there on the floor. Okoye sealed the deal with two free throws and NeTanya Jones just missed a double double with 10/9 for the Cowgirls who face Stephen F Austin at 2:30 in Katy at the Merrell Center
