HSAA North holds on to win #SpaceCityJam Championship

I've mentioned before that the game always has and always will start at the one and no matter how many weapons you have in your arsenal, you have to have solid play from your point. Sara Williams did just that throughout the tournament to help get HSAA  North in a position to win the Space City Jam however FEAST led by MDAA Recee Caldwell, also a point, had other ideas.

Caldwell, noticeably hurting from an ankle injury the previous day, didn't get going offensively until the second half however her ability to make her teammates better was seen throughout the event. Down 35-18 at the half, FEAST outscored HSAA 16-7 in the third quarter to get within striking distance, keep in mind Sara and Alyssa Williams, no relation, were in foul trouble and had to sit the majority of the third

HSAA wound up winning 63-43, game was a little closer than the score indicates, but again with all of their weapons, they've put together some big wins not only here but in the Metroplex when I saw them in the PCA event. A. Williams was on fire, dropping four  three's and finishing with 21 points while the freshman, Delyssa Miller, wwho keeps improving every time I see her play, added 15 along with close to the same amount of rebounds

Lauren Pellegren and Kaylyn Thomas did a good job attacking the basket finishing with 13 and 8 respectively, Pellegren with 11 of those in the second half which is ironically the same thing Caldwell did with FEAST, 11 of her 13 after halftime

Kelsey Patterson and Hannah Blair scored 9 each for FEAST, all of Blair's from bta while Grace Drewa added 7. I'll have a Tip Sheet coming later along with the players who were selected to the All Tournament team and one thing is for certain, #talentiseverywhere
