Texas A&M wins OT thriller against South Carolina

It's not often you get to see three games in one but Texas A&M pulled off one of their biggest wins ever at Reed arena. This was not the same team I saw earlier in the season, they've been on a sensational run knocking off some heavyweights along the way but the highest ranked SEC was next on the list. No. 8 South Carolina came to town and  in a nationally televised battle between the remaining unbeaten SEC teams in conference play, the Gamecocks appeared to be on their way leading 11-4. Well get this, the Aggies went on a  30-6 run and led at halftime 34-17

The Gamecocks came out fighting in the second half like I knew they would and it seems like whatever could happen, did happen, questionable calls included. Down 3 with a tad over five seconds left, South Carolina's Tiffany Mitchell hit a leaning banker, if you've seen Reeves in the Matrix, it was almost like that lean and I was completely tripping after seeing that. Let me say this, losing a 17 point lead in the second half, A&M could have easily cracked in OT, South Carolina had the momentum and appeared to have the energy but A&M pulled it out and several players simply shined.

BOX SCORE

Four Aggies scored in double figures and I'll start with the two I've been watching the longest. Karla Gilbert's improvement on the offensive end ,11 points, was huge in this win, she made some tough shots when they were needed the most. I called Courtney Williams "The Truth" in the sixth grade and she hasn't lied on the court yet, one rebound away from a double-double, just watch the video showing some of her 17 points. Courtney Walker, the other CW, didn't catch her until she was in high school but I've always enjoyed watching her, she simply makes things happen in big ways and her 18 points led the team. Jordan Jones, what can I say about her putting on not only a scoring but dribbling and steal exhibition, again check the video, and the 16 points from this JJ definitely played a factor in the "Good Times " I had going back to Reed

How's this for a spin-off closer, that win over the #8 team in the country will definitely have the Aggies "JEFFERSONIZED" in the rankings, you know "Movin On Up" . This has been one of the best weeks ever as far as good games, starting with HBU vs Northwestern St, Cy Fair vs Cy Woods, Rice vs La Tech and now this one.
