Klein Forest early run helps them defeat Kingwood

I've spoken so much about the "Big Three" from Klein Forest over the years, Regina Scott, Ekiyah Gray and Ebony Parker,  and watching them in the final chapter of their high school careers has me reliving some of the middle school memories when I knew they would be the group to turn this program round. Last night, they kept themselves in the hunt for the district title with a win over Kingwood 58-49

Kingwood's Gabby Stanton opened the scoring up in the game however a 10-1 run by the Eagles made it seem like they were about to fly away early with this one early as they closed the quarter up 19-14 but not so fast. The Mustangs have several young ladies other than Stanton who can score and they made a run of their own and were down 27-24 at the half

Brooke Jolivette and Charlotte Hodges joined the attack with Stanton, as well as Inne-Cheetham West but Klein Forest got some offense from other than the "Big Three" as one of the most improved players in the area, Destiny Vincent, went to work in the third and the Eagles extended their lead to 42-35 and held on in the final quarter for the win

Here is the rundown from the Chronicle
