HBU off to an impressive start

HBU got off to a slow start against UT Tyler falling behind 8-3 early however a 16-0 run after the midway point the first half opened things up and the Huskies never looked back. Rachel Arthur came off the bench and immediately made things happen as she's not only gotten faster but shot the ball with a lot of confidence. Anna Strickland played huge, coming up with eight rebounds and Monet Neal brought so much energy from the opening tip that it just trickled over to her teammates

I watched a ,lot of HBU last season and that early deficit could have spelled disaster but this team came out with plenty of intensity and kept it up n o matter who was in the starting line up. TJ Jefferson got a lot of oohs and ahhs from the crowd with a couple of highlight moved while six different players nailed a three for HBU as they shot 8-15 from bta

Athur and Maise Ellison both hit a couple of three's, Rachel was simply in a zone going 7-9 from the field but the most impressive thing about this years Huskies team is they did what they did with limited play from last seasons leading scorer Shanice Steenholdt who scored 13 points in only 11 minutes

The Huskies host UT Arlington of Friday, wish I could be there but that Metroplex HS doubleheader trip has been paid for. Here's a rundown from today along with box score
