Prime Time's #HSHT2 turns up the heat on Sunday

The second weekend of the Houston Summer Hoops Tour ended with probably more excitement than last weekends action and after it was all said and done, some of the outcomes were the same. In the top division, the San Antonio Lady Bulls withheld a ferocious comeback by Houston Hoops Rodriguez to win by two in the championship

In the the 9/10 Grade Division, Maddie Powers did so much to impress me on Saturday that hearing about her nailing two free throws with no time remaining to help her Pearland Hawks team to the finals didn't surprise me. They didn't win the top prize as they fell short to another Houston Hoops team, Houston Hoops-White which gave the Hoops program a one and a two, in the top two divisions

As the day progressed I became energized watching the stars of tomorrow battle and in the 8th Grade Division Championship, Katy-Rebels Poth defeated Houston Premier 14U in a tight match-up between a couple teams that have several young ladies that are going to be #PrimeTime players for their high schools and beyond as they continue to make 2017 more of a monster

DFW 2019 is making a habit out of playing up and winning championships and this weekend was no different and the more I see them, the more they are looking like the "can't miss" crew as as they continue to do what they do. They came away with the 7th Grade Championship rather easily

As excited as I was, as energized as I was, nothing blew me away more than watching some of these players  in the 5/6 Grade Division. There are certain things you can't teach in life, this applies to several things and  understanding the basic concept of basketball is one of them. Katy Rebels-Poth played up in this division and wound up playing another Katy Rebels team for the championship, so it would be safe for me to say that Katy Rebels won the championship.

I've spoken highly about the Katy Rebels-Goss squad after catching them a couple of years ago and their careers are in the early stages as all are, well almost all are from the 2016 class and the Goss twins were two of the first on the team to catch my eye. Feeling an Eagles moment, there are some new kids in town, as the Poth twins were among several young stars on Katy Rebels-Poth that showed me, well that's coming up later as well as a few mini-stories along with a Tip Sheet you probably don't wanna miss and always remember no one does it like I do!
