Green Wave hold off Owls

This has got be one of the best seasons for watching entertaining basketball that I've witnessed in a long time because it seems like just about every game I've attended this season, whether it was high school or college, it has turned out to be a battle.

Tulane came to town to face the Rice Owls, both tied at 1-1 in Conference USA and left with a win. Rice jumped out to 12-4 lead in the first five minutes of the game and was up by eight with a little over eight minutes but Tulane kept chipping away wound up leading by five at the half

The game was tied at 56 with a little over seven minutes left however the Green Wave outscored the Owls by eight points over the next four minutes to get a little cushion and even though Rice cut the lead to three with four seconds remaining, this was Tulane's night as they win 69-65, read more

Both teams play again this Sunday on the road as the Owls take on the SMU Mustangs, SMU is currently tied at the top of the C-USA standings with UTEP and UAB, while Tulane travels to Memphis, both are 2-1 in conference play
