Barbers Hill offering up different type of Mayday
Last season, the Barbers Hill Eagles lost three games in the Katy Tournament and the only other game they lost was in the state semi-final against Mansfield Summit finishing up 38-4. Gone are Shannon Evans and Kendall Shaw who finished their remarkable careers together which started after they began walking as "Little Dribblers" with not only a state championship appearance but the fact that they pulled off one of if not "I would have lost the farm" upsets against #1 Beaumont Ozen
Not only did they win, the won going away 66-39 which iis what I had expected to happen the other way but I always tell people that you only have to be the best team that particular game and the Eagles definitely were. As good as Evans and Shaw were, they wouldn't have done it without returnees Mackenzie May and Kimberly Carter. May can absolutely shoot the lights out while Carter falls into that category of ten year old players and under I knew would be among the tops in their class
The new "Dynamic Duo" will have their chance and after a solid summer from both, I'm sure they are ready for anything!
